The new theming definitely improved the ride for me significantly. Good fun.

So we have been at Disney for 9 days - DS and I tried several times for sneak peak but no luck. Left yesterday for one day at Universal. Was supposed to start driving home to NY this morning, but saw the news of the soft opening and put that plan on hold. In line now! Glad I added one "just in case" day to our passes!

Just rode three times in 30 minutes. Standby is about 20 mins but no one is using the single rider line. Literally walking directly on the ride.

It's definitely open now. Posted 60 minute wait, FP is about an hour out.

Rode it twice. I liked the upgrade. DS definitely did not - too nostalgic perhaps. You really need to wait in line so you can design your own car. Fastpass you have to pick premade car, which is not nearly as fun for several reasons.

I rode it 2 times on Saturday night. As expected there were kinks both times. When building your own car the touch screen was terrible and very very slow. The ride itself the 1st time riding the screen in the car didnt work. The 2nd time the screen in car didnt work and neither did the narration. The theme felt like i was in a computer, something like tron.

The best part was when you walk through it smells like a new car. Even when all the kinks are fixed i will say the old version is much much better.

Just rode twice this evening. Everything is very sleek and futuristic-ish. We call it "Tron Track" because of the theming. The ride itself was the same track as before - we could recite the original sound bites from Bill McKim as we rode - but the whole ride experience was outstanding. As soon as you passed the seatbelt check and went up the first ramp, you knew right away that this was not your mother's Test Track. Big score for Disney. And over at the Land, the Soarin' Fastpass machines all took a deep sigh of relief.

Other notes - yes the whole place smells like new car, and the Fastpass machines were up and running, although you couldn't see the posted times, you had to ask an attendant.

Yes and yes! I think the new theme was a good move, and I am definitely looking forward to eased congestion at Soarin'.

Rode twice today. Once in single rider line and once with FP. Very Tron-ish. Pretty cool. I do admit though, I miss some of the things about the old ride.

They also have ride photos you can get added to your photopass+ card.

DH was so bummed thinking he wasn't going to ride TT bc we are leaving for home this morning so he was thrilled to ride it last night. We liked it a lot. Both DDs designed pink cars with sparkle effects which made us laugh. I liked all the new effects and think the new effects are great.

LOL, we did that too...we decided we would design the tackiest car possible, and ours also had turbo jet engines and a big ol' grill on the front Someday I'm sure I'll actually design a nice looking car, but we had a lot of fun being silly with it!

Can you still get the photos with regular (not +) photopass like you used to, or is it photopass+ only now?

I thought that you were never able to get ride photos with regular photopass, only with photopass+. Was TT different?
