Right, the refurb doesn't bother me. That happens regardless. I just didn't want the menu changing.

Although, I suppose the menu changes from time to time, too.

Like I said, I'll have to wait until I try it before I form an opinion.

The official Disney statement (the only absolute truth that we know at this stage) is that MSB is closing for refurbishment. Any other article is sheer conjecture at this stage and nothing else.

Starbucks, like we all know (and some love) outside of the parks will NOT be the Starbucks they are opening in the parks. It will serve the Starbucks drinks, both hot and cold drinks, alongside Starbucks food and Disney food. The DCA location has the complete Starbucks drink menu, however there are 3 shelves of Disney food compared to Starbucks 2 shelves of treats and snacks.

Example.
  • California Grill will close for renovations soon and reopen as the CG. Even if the menu changes somewhat, it is still reopening as the CG.
  • Top of The World closed and was replaced by the California Grill.

If the MSB comes back as a green colored Starbucks a la any-city-in-America, then it will have replaced the MSB. If the MSB comes back as a turn-of-the-century shoppe with Starbucks coffee and a combination of Starbucks and Disney baked goods, then the MSB will have reopened as the same place with a different menu. Get it??
Ummmmm no can you explain it again to me? And again? And then again?

I've made similar comments. When Big Thunder Mountain was refurbished, it didn't re open as the Men in Black Ride to Universal did it?

I know you're joking. I used to love Columbia Harbor House...but Disney has changed their clam chowder, it is not the same tasty chowder it used to be. Red Lobster may actually be an improvement...and I'm not a Red Lobster fan. There have been some improvements at the table service restaurants lately, but the Disney operated counter servce places seem to be getting worse. Corporate sponsors may actually be a general improvement.

And you must be joking to call msb a mom and pop bakery. That is absurd. Lol.
I did not call MSB a mom and pop bakery. I was simply comparing main street to a nostalgic town. You see all mom and pop type stores, then a Starbucks moves in. I just don't want to see a Starbucks. Which is what they are stating it will be. They have said the bakery will close and "reopen as a Starbucks".Everyone on here needs to really check themselves before posting. The comments are rude, condescending and obnoxious.

I thought I'd mention that the DCA Starbucks locations, does in fact sell the DISNEY Cinnamon Rolls/Buns that everyone is so worried about "losing"

I just find this outrage to be so completely asinine. I have been to Disney 42 times since Dec. 1971. I have been through every possible change and seen many of my favorite rides from childhood disappear. And you know something, it's OK. My memories come from the activity at the time and the people I was with. When things change, I create a new memory and remember fondly the old ones.

I just can't imagine being so emotionally attached to any one thing in a theme park that I'd cancel trips, sign useless petitions, cry, whine, etc.

Can you show me where you're getting your information? The Disney statement clearly states MSB is closing for refurbishment. It actually says no where that it's closing permanently. Rides get refurbished all the time at WDW, but they come back the same ride!

I'm emotionally attached to my Frappuccino Cup. I'd be back to WDW faster is Mickey's Ears became the Starbucks symbols.

I agree. Memories are, for me, about the people involved. The rest is just a prop.

No offence to anyone but if your WDW memories revolve around the MSB, what else were you doing for the other 8-14 hours of your day in the parks? All my memories of WDW are not about my coffee or breakfast croissant.

I'm not going to freak out yet. I have faith Disney will do this right and SB will just be incorporated into MSB. I will be interested to see how this is done.
