Booking on sailing day?

Is it possible or has anyone went to the DCL port and purchased the cruise that is sailing that day?

haven't heard of this being possible with any cruise in a very long time. Security precautions now mean you need cruise documents in hand just to get into the terminal.

It is POSSIBLE that you could CALL the cruise line the same day and pay with credit card then get a document e-mailed or faxed. I've done this a little as a week out on DCL.

I don't believe it is allowed.
I am under the impression that the cruise lines must give documentation of all passengers to customs about 3 days before. So you can't purchase a cruise after that point. Or so I have been told.

I called and asked since someone on our past cruise asked the same question. Per Disney, with the exception of the Port of NY, you can call and book a cruise the same day. NY requires a 48 hour prior to booking. Im not sure on paperwork, but Id think youd get at least a confirmation and reservation number, and youd be in the computer system by the time you get to the port.
