Door decorating on non-Disney cruise

We love decorating our doors on our Disney cruises. My mom and sister are going on a Princess cruise, and I wondered if any of you Disney cruisers (who understand door decorating) could comment on whether it would be okay to make them some door decorations, or whether non-Disney folks would think it was odd. Have you seen door decorations on your non-Disney cruises?

Not sure about Princess, but folks on Royal Caribbean and Carnival decorate their doors. They get really creative too! On my last RCI cruise we saw a door "dressed" in a grass skirt and coconut top. If you search Cruise Critic, you will find several pictures of decorated doors on Carnival.

I would decorate! Other passengers would also enjoy it. I decorate on any cruise line I go on. If its not a magnetic door I use the 3m strips. They work great.

I've only seen them on Disney ships -- interesting that others are starting to do that too.

On our Fantasy cruise last week a woman was taking her little son around to admire all the decorated doors. very cute.

And of course, the more DIS people onboard, the more decorated doors you'll see.

I did decorate our door this past June on carnival. Using Disney related magnets lol. The cabin stewards loved it.

We went on a HAL to Alaska a couple of years ago and thought about making magnets. Decided not to. We never did see a decorated cabin door.

Hubby and I have been on 2 cruises and the 1st was 10 years ago, so I don't remember but our most recent one was only a few years ago (Carnival) and I remember seeing some doors decorated so I'd say tell them to go for it!

I didn't see any decorated doors on Celebrity, but that is rather a different demographic. The average age on the ship was probably somewhere in the 60s and one of our tablemates at dinner celebrated her 85th on the cruise. There were some kids and some teens, but not many.
