What are the new rules for OBC and Silver Gold Platinum

I've been out of the loop since I came back from the Fantasy MV due to family & health issues. I need to catch up.
Earlier this year, I heard that there would be changes in how OBC would be given and how one goes from each level, that it might not involve number of cruises, but amount of money one spends on a cruise.
Now that I'm thouroughly confused, can anyone clarify this for me???

If you book a new cruise while on board, the OBC is now based on the length of the cruise booked. It's $200 for cruises of 7 nights and longer, $100 for cruises less than 7 nights.

No changes were made to Castaway levels.

Nothing has changed except the fact that now everyone gets the same amount OBC for OBBs -- $200 for 7+ night cruises and $100 for shorter cruises. There is also the fact that you can only book two rooms for one cruise date with OBB benefits per cruise now.

what if you booked your cruise prior to this change but
your cruise is after they made the changes? do they
still give the previous obc?

I believe that if you change the cruise date, the OBC will change to the new amounts that are based on cruise length.

If you booked before the change, then whatever you booked goes with you. Our booking stayed the same when we chnaged our dates.

The big deal about this latest change is the fact that while you keep the 10% discount and deposit for OBBs, when you switch a previously booked reservation with an OBB the OBC will reduce to the new amount noted. Sorry but many reported back that this was the case and were not happy about the change.

That's the part that we really don't like.

If you booked before the change and keep everything as it was when you booked it, you get the previous (higher for gold and platinum) OBC. If you make any changed to that reservation, it will revert to the offer they have today--$100/$200 based on length of cruise.

This is correct...we just switched our booking last month and our OBC dropped to $200.

thanks for the updates,

this will be our tenth. pretty sure our current one was done prior
to the new changes. however, i can't recall "what" the perks
were? and does anyone remember when the current changes
were made? ( don't think the length effects us, because we're
going on the next trans altantic in may. )

is the "one part"? about "if" you had dummy cruises- set up prior
are still receiving the previous credits? ( we still have 3 more
that we set up way back in 99 ); & would that upgrade as
we will now be in the platinum classification ?

also just wanted to give a special shout out to ms. "L" girl,

hope qthing is fine with your family. we made some great friends
on the 08 cruise, esp. our t-"mates'. because of their encounters,
we took another look @ dvc ...& we purchased 3 contacts ( one
each for our kids) @ blt villas. we just did an aulani trip & came
real close adding 3 more there. the only reason we did not,
were the conflicts with dcl cruises. oh, our lil' miss attitude is growing
up..too fast. before we went to aulani, we stopped over @
d.~land. well the young miss playing ariel was going in from
greeting but made a "stop" to speak with her..over her "beautiful"
red hair. ( when i asked her , my daughter stated "we" gingers
stick together so i know i was out of the loop.) at aluani, there
were a bunch of disney tv channel stars. one young man was
really nice and gave her a lot of attention. (yes- dad close by,
very). ha, i told my wife, i think he was being too nice to her
too. ( she liked the compliment-, which she gave a few
bonus points. )

dang!, on the way back, the guy assigned next to us on the plane
had work with the disneys. so he enjoyed sharing stories. another
person i met where i worked had grandparents that vacationed
with walt & his wife. their family pictures are impressive as .
they are down to earth! i recently been reading about the 33
club---but her family had the disney's family as their routine "company".
isn't real life a "hoot"- because she asked me to help her plan her
first wdw trip. ( we've only been a dozen times over the
30 years we've been together )

my baby has given up her irish dancing....though she is now "quite"
the artist. she always been interested in japan art, & has learned
their language. ironic---huh?--my coworkers claim my handwriting
is soooo bad that they have given it a "name", , &
yet we have friends paying my daughter to "draw" their children.
she isn't old enough to drive. so we beginning to plan to
go the japan disney parks for high school graduation.

sorry for being "windy", but i was glad to read you're still
here. you are a great diser, i ever met here! anyhoo, that
our "news". bet the kids are keeping you busy?!
