Sea Bands

I have some questions about Sea Bands:

1. Reviews seem very good. Has anyone had an experience where they didn't work?

2. Are the adult and child versions sized the same? (I read they were the same size on Amazon reviews)

3. What stores have you found them in?

4. Have any children complained they were uncomfortable?

Thanks!

We were on the infamous Disney Fantasy Hurricane cruise. Our 28 year old daughter was sick the first night of the cruise (with calm seas) and wore our sea bands. She was then sick the last night of the cruise (with very rough seas) and wore our sea bands. She swears by them. We bought ours at Walmart. They aren't uncomfortable, but they do firm snuggly. That is why they work.

I bought the adult ones just incase we needed them. It was all target sold. They said they were safe for kids (I believe 2+, mine are 6 so I didn't pay too much attention). Honestly, I think they just market fun colors for the kids vs grey and blue for adults.

Smile

My husband has been wearing them since we married and also swears by them. I also put them on my youngest daughter. She used to get car and airplane sick. As long as she has her bands, she is perfect.

They both have warn them on our cruises. No problems.

Another vote for a positive experience.

I know you didn't mean it like that, but I was amused in your statement above that your husband has been wearing them since you got married!

They are also very popular for morning sickness.

I haven't heard anyone say they didn't work, but I'm sure there's someone, somewhere! I used to work in a pharmacy and we sold a bunch of them, not just to travelers but to pregnant women for morning sickness. Lots of doctors recommend them, since they aren't a drug, and everyone I talked to was happy with them. DH has used them on several cruises with great results as well.

The adult and child versions are no different, they are designed to fit very snugly to put the proper pressure on. I haven't heard complaints about them being uncomfortable.

They are available at almost any store that has health/beauty products. They'll be with the Bonine, Dramamine, etc. CVS, Rite Aid, Walgreens, Walmart, Target, etc. Many grocery stores also carry them. They usually run about $10 or so (at least in my area) but they last a long time and never expire, so it's worth it!

I was on Vancouver to L.A. cruise, and the ship was really rocking. My wife bought me seabands and they had no effect on me. Bonnie finally fixed my problem.

As they say there is one nut in the bunch.

Just because it worked for me or worked this way in the past or is part of the great Dis lore is no reason it will work this way in the future. Depending on the CM you get, new interpretation of the rules, changes in rules, weather over the Himalayas, your results may be different.

Make that two of us! I wear mine when in the car so I can do some looking down or helping the kids. However, I still cannot do extensive focusing on anything other than the landscape.
