Talk to me about breakfast
I mean, it IS the most important meal of the day...
We are on the TS/QS dining plan and I'm working out the food plan. So, I thought I would ask you guys about breakfast in case we want to use any of of dining credits (TS or QS) on breakfast. Not into character dining. Buffets are totally cool. Variety is nice. Not TOOOOO far away from the parks. Looking for something a bit more interesting than the typical Bounty Platter, but happy with anything as long as it's good. We've been Kona for breakfast, so we know all about that.. we've had the cinnamon rolls on Main Street as well.. Does anyone else have any other breakfast faves that may fit the bill (good and/or interesting food, plenty of it- maybe buffet, and close to a park)? Thanks in advance! |

Maybe try Boma at AKL for breakfast on your Animal Kingdom day. We think the breakfast buffet is really good there! Then it is just a short drive or bus ride from the hotel to the park.
You could try Whispering Canyon Cafe at the WL and then just take the boat to MK. The Swan and Dolphin both have really interesting breakfast buffets, and then a boat to DHS. (I don't know for sure if you can use a TS credit for these, though) Kouzzina at the Boardwalk Hotel serves breakfast, and then it is a nice walk to Epcot via the international gateway. Also, Cape May at the Beach Club, but it is a character buffet. Yacht Club's Captains Grilll has a buffet breakfast also. Wolfgang Puck Express at DTD Marketplace has a pretty unique breakfast menu and would be a CS credit.

Is "The Wave" a TS credit?

Yes, The Wave is a TS credit. The biggest 'bang for the QS buck" breakfasts are WPE in DTD and Pepper Market at CSR. Pepper Market is actually a non-character buffet. No real specialty items but all you can eat of the basics. Trouble is that both of them are pretty far off the beaten path. Unless you have a car it's pretty difficult to eat at either of them and still make rope drop at any park.
Both are good options for a non-park day, though. Good/unique items would also be the Tonga Toast at Capt Cooks (Poly QS) and some of the specialty Mickey Waffles at Roaring Forks (WL QS). |

As mentioned earlier, Captain's Grille has a buffet, and it is right next to Epcot (and only $1 more than Pepper Market) n

You could also try Trails End @ Fort Wilderness they have a good breakfast buffet and you could use the boats to get there, it would be a good place on a MK day.

I also wanted to recommend Trail's End at Fort Wilderness. The buffet had some good choices like mickey waffles, breakfast pizza, fritattas, pulled pork eggs benedict and other delicious choices. In addition, it was on the quiet side and we didn't need a reservation. We just walked up and waited maybe ten minutes.

If you have been to Kona, definitely try Boma! It is delicious and has a great variety! Plus you can take a very quick bus trip to Animal Kingdom when you are done in the morning!

DH and I were very disappointed with the Wave buffet in January. Boma was just ok when we had breakfast there in 2010. Dinner was fabulous there though.
