Akl
Looking to eat dinner one night at AKL
Have heard rumors that there are night vision goggles or the kids to see the animals. Is that at a specific restaurant? In the lobby/ look out point? To resort guests only?

When last I was at Jambo the night viewing was out just beyond the pool. There is a CM member who has the binoculars and will chat about the animals w/ guests and it is not limited to guests of the resort, you just stroll out there and wait your turn.

This was my experience last December. There weren't that many animals out the night we were there...cool to add on to a dinner ressie, but not worth a specific trip out there just for that.

We were there in February (Jambo) and did the night vision viewing. It was cool! We saw three animals over a ten minute period....it was neat to watch, kinda felt bad keeping the goggles too long bc other people were waiting, but it was interesting!

As mentioned, the night viewing is usually in the area past the pool at the Uzima lookout unless its raining they move it to the porch area off the lobby.
It was my understanding that it is for resort guests. During our stay the CMs were asking if you were an AKL guest, due to the large amount of people waiting, non guests were told they could use the night vision scopes after all the guests did, if they wanted to wait around.

We are staying at Jambo in April and I simply can't wait! A few years back, my boys got from Santa, night vision goggles to play Man Hunt (hide and seek) at night. I'm going to bring them with me so we can sit on out balcony and hopefully see some animals. Santa got them pretty cheap (around $20) at Toys R Us. I don't know how well they will work, but I think it will be fun to have them in our room.
