DVC is a premier option, it might be worth trying one of the smaller more boutique exchange companies like SFX because they will value DVC so much higher and see what they can do, though RCI will give you some great TPUs
Exchanging can make planning a whole different ball game. Exchanges are only available when someone decides they don't want to use their week - which may be well in advance or a month beforehand. You can't plan when someone else will deposit their week. You can't book plane tickets until you get the exchange(s), or you book plane tickets and then have to work what exchange(s) you end up with around your dates. You really need to get your RCI waitlist in as far as possible beforehand, meaning you have to guess if the airfare seasons will stay the same. Plus most exchanges are done by the week, have you already seen enough of Europe to not need to do a touring holiday, spending a week in one place is what you want?

I LOVE exchanging or renting through an exchange company, but I mainly use it for US/Canada holidays. Whenever I've tried using it for Europe, big fat zero of anything I'd contemplate, most of the Australian options of exchanges are pretty poor quality compared to the US, Asia they are usually a lot smaller, I've not worried about checking Africa or South America.
The only thing i know about going to Europe in 2015 is we are cruising there from Australia on a 36 night overpriced cruise and we are going to DLP will be using points and only have a vague idea of what else we want to do we plan on spending 6 weeks in Europe after the cruise DH wants to go to Jersey and London is on on our must do the rest is open to suggestions i will start another thread soon we havent been at all and this will more than likely be our only trip to Europe

I have mentioned this to you before. Make sure you get the banking right and use or rent the points before the due date otherwise you will lose them.

If you need help with the renting out send me a pm, I can send you sample contracts etc. If you decide to rent the points the closer to the 11 month window could be worth more.

Have you done the setup to pay the annual dues, at least DVC takes Amex, and the member site login.

Thanks i have banked them I did it over the phone and they gave me a receipt so we will now have 660 available from April 2013 I guess we will have to work out what we are doing next year soon.
They set everything up and our annual dues will be automatically billed to our CC they said we will get a few weeks notice before it happens everything else has been exactly how they said it would so i am assuming thats what will happen. I have also completed the member site login

I usually pre pay the dues, wait until the dollar is good and call MS to pay. Does not matter if you overpay or pay a small amount on the due date.

I just came across this board and I'm so excited that there are so many Aussie DVC owners. Maybe Disney will finally see there is a demand for Disney Downunder . You guys should also try the *********** forum.
We bought 210 SSR points last year through **** and Jaki at Resales DVC. They were fantastic.
We then bought an additional 110 Aulani points while on the Disney cruise.
I love Disney so much and I feel like I'm part of the family now. We used our points at Boardwalk and Old Key West (which was our favorite).
Someone mentioned earlier that you can't use your resale points at non DVC properties. That is not entirely true. You can't use them with Disney Conceirge, Disney Collection, Disney Cruise and Disney Adventurers. However, you can still exchange through RCI. I personally would not waste the huge amount of points on Disney Conceirge, Disney Collection, Disney Cruise and Disney Adventurers.

Welcome to the Aussie section. There are a few DVC members here, need to keep working on them.

I spoke with Jaki this morning, have another resale going through. There were a few complications.

I agree with you on the RCI exchange.

Good luck with your resale purchase. We actually wanted to buy at Grand Californian but couldn't wait for the elusive contract. How many points do you have and where?

We emailled back the signed contracts, I am sure we will make it through the ROFR.

Not enough points! LOL

All our points are at BWV, the best place to stay.
