So sorry it was so rough. I thought my first dcl cruise had rough seas but wow. We also cruised halloween before and there was a hurricane but the boat for the most part skirted it. So disappointing and I feel so bad for everyone on the fantasy and dream this week.

Ok, now it's turned into another "Just spent e terrifying night on The Fantasy" thread.

Is there anyway we could keep it about the title of this thread? In case you forgot it's "Anyone on the Dream right now? Castaway Cay Damage?"

From what I understand,

No ship is scheduled to be on CC until sometime this week.

The Fantasy usually goes on Fridays, not sure what day (s) the Dream goes.

Maybe no one has been there yet!

The Dream is scheduled to go there Tuesday of this week. I have no idea if they'll actually get to go, but that's when the 4-night cruise on the Dream goes to CC.

OP here! When I posted, I had been reading about the damage on Fantasy and watching marinetraffic.com for the Dream but she was out of range. I was concerned about her and CC as well so I was hoping for some reports from people cruising at the time. thanks!

The report we got on the Dream was that Castaway Cay had sustained considerable damage and would not be open for at least a week. All of the cast members on the island were safe though.

Thanks castaway. I've seen that link but I discount the article due to the misinformation provided by the disney rep regarding the cruise ships steering clear of the storms and enjoying sunny days at sea.

We just got off the dream yesterday. I may never cruise again it was horrible. 40-60mph winds the whole time with very rough seas better than 75% of the time my family and I spent at least 2/3 of the trip in our cabin because we were so seasick.

Angry Dream cruise oct 25

We got back Sunday what a pain. Couldn't go outside and the Captain thought it would be a good idea to give away Bahama mamas for an hour and a half just before crossing the current I mean really? Cruise went nowhere pool as closed most of the time aqua duck never opened after we left CC. Doors were locked or roped off the whole cruise. As for castaway clay good luck Capt. Said a week at least to get it back to be safe.
I agree with other person Friday for about two hours it was beautiful then captain took us bank k into the storm why? People were sick every where again free drinks a good idea I think not. We saw and did everything Friday then just wondered around. My autistic son went to vibe when I went to get him I couldn't get there all the crew said I had to go out on deck but doors were locked finally guest services called around and ,got directions for me a and 45 minutes later I got him back. I think the discount is cheap on Disney's part. Heard on news if they canceled the cruise they lost 8 million so send us on a bad cruise but they made their money didn't they.

I thought that if Disney cancelled the cruise that you would just be out the money, unless you purchased insurance. Can anybody clarify?

Dream cruise

We were really rocking last night and flying Around the ship. Disney offered us 25% off of a future 3 day cruise only....no other options. I feel like it was a bad decision for Disney to have even sailed period on this cruise. We called Disney before the cruise and asked if we could change to a different date and they said no. We were all sick...the weather and seas were awful....everything was closed and we couldn't even go outside or sit on our balcony...I was scared and felt that Disney made a bad call on this.
i agree on all accounts, we just got off the Dream too, everything was closed off, it's not a fun day at sea in this case. it rained almost the entire time, over 10ft waves sometimes 20ft, could not use our verhandas, it was like a bad dream that we couldn't wake up from. why didn't the captain stay in south florida? no one will tell us. definately a bad call on their part, there was vomit in the hallways we saw this at least three different areas, it was disgusting.
