I went to tonight's show (12/4) also, and there was a long line for ticket winners when we entered the park about 4:00.

Definitely not necessary to wait for hours in line unless you must have the front row. There was plenty of standing room available. I imagine it will be more crowded on the weekends and as it gets closer to Christmas. Checking in for wristbands was super easy. It was at ticket booth 4. The CMs were standing out by the ropes for the booth checking emails and passes, then putting on the wristbands. I was worried because one of my son's didn't activate his new pass until after Nov. 12th, but they didn't say anything about it. It was our first Candlelight Processional and really loved it. Hope they have this many performances from now on so we can make it an annual tradition.
How long would you say the entire event lasted? I've never seen it and would like to know roughly how long we'll be there so we can plan things accordingly

It was about 50 minutes. I remember looking at the clock on the train station at 8:15 and it wasn't quite over.

I read today on Disney Parks blog that the narrator for December 20th has changed to John Stamos.

Just passing along information,

Thank you. I've asked a few people on various sites and no one has given me an answer till now. Can't wait to see CP this year!

Thanks for the info! I was specifically wondering about this issue because I want to take my BF but his AP wasn't effective by 11/12.

This is from Monday night's show. It's a great video, and has the entire show. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ielmKfew9lU
I saw John Stamos as narrator a couple of years ago, he was great. Hoping to see him again.

We went tonight (Dec. 4) and stood in the non-reserved section - showed up at 7pm for the 7:30pm and had our pick of spots. Even folks showing up as the show began had room to stand. Don't know if that'll change, but not crazy at all on this weekday night.

I'd be down with an Uncle Jessie Christmas. Especially if he sported that sweet mullet.

The Entertainment division is planning to relocate Candlelight to DCA's Hyperion Theater for 2013. The number of days will be increased from 20 to about 30. With a dedicated, easy-to-darken venue, there's no telling how many performances Disney could schedule per day. The move would also allow Disney, if it so chose, to charge admission to the event.

I was lucky to score tix through DVC. We received an E-mail last week, telling us to call and request the time/date we wanted. Tix were waiting for us when we checked into the Grand Californian. We went on Wed. Dec.5, 7:30. When I asked Casr Members (outside the gates) where to go to line up, I was directed to Ticket Gate 4. When I got there, another CM told me I didn't need wristbands, but to go on in and show the tix to get to the correct line. So, we went in the entrance gates and asked where to go. We were told that we needed wristbands. I told that CM that we were told that we didn't need them. ugh! They checked with another CM who directed us to a line to the far left. There were only 7 people in that line! When they were ready to let people in, they escorted us to the front row!

Kurt Russell was the narrator & perfect for old gals like us, who remember him in all his Disney movies. He mentioned that it was Walt Disney's birthday.

So if you are a DVC owner, you can score great seats!

Question Weather / Planning advice?

Hello, all!

We are fortunate that we won AP tickets to see the Candlelight Processional on Friday, 14 December, at 7:30 pm; however, when we won, we quickly threw a trip to California together, for the sole purpose of seeing the Processional. School and work will have to be missed, and it will cost money were were not planning to spend. We decided, however, that it would be worth it, for this would likely be the only time we would have the opportunity to see the CP.

Our concern, now, is the weather forecast and we are wondering if we should just save our money and cancel the trip. I am hoping some of you who are local to the Anaheim area can provide some insight as to whether the forecast is usually correct, or if it is usually exaggerated and never comes to fruition, around the Disneyland area. We know that, if it is raining, the Processional will be canceled, which would defeat the entire purpose of our trip.

Currently, the forecast shows:

Thursday, 13 December -- 40% chance of rain
Friday, 14 December (day of the Processional) -- 10% chance of rain
Saturday, 15 December -- 10% chance of rain
Sunday, 16 December -- 30% chance of rain

Optimistically, I look at the forecast and assume that we should be safe for the Processional on Friday; however, I am wondering what you, the locals, think and what your advice would be. Also, how quick is Disney to cancel the CP when rain starts?

Thanks, very much, for your help! It is appreciated!

I'm about 15 minutes away from DL and I think the forecast is to be in the upper 60s, possibly low 70s. You should be fine. It's been getting foggy in the evening, but not until much later. (Be sure to let me know if you have an extra ticket )
