Hollywood & Vine dinner sucked!

We ate at Hollywood & Vine for dinner a few days ago and it was terrible! We did bfast last year and have done dinner probably like 8 years ago here.

The salads were basically empty and a messy area. The hot food was luke warm and so-so ( I don't eat meat but my sister wasn't impressed on that end). The desserts were blah, mostly mouses/mushy stuff. And I found a bit of like butter wrapper in my bar (magic cookie bar I think) - lovely, not!!

It was messy, which I don't get since it wasn't fully packed. We ate like 6:00pm.

The good thing was a create your pasta, where you tell the chef what you wanted and he made it right there.

We will not be going back!

That's too bad you had a lousy experience. We ate there last week for lunch one day and dinner another day and had two perfectly good meals.

This was our experience two trips ago as well. We won't be going back unless there are some major changes!

We also had a waitress who disappeared for about 45 minutes....

Your experiences mirror mine, and my ratings.

***********************************************

Our Ratings of Hollywood and Vine: (9/1/2012)
. . . food price value: C
. . . food quality: D
. . . food quantity per serving: A
. . . food prep speed: B
. . . food selection: C
. . . seating quantity: C
. . . seating comfort: C
. . . eatery atmosphere: C
. . . eatery convenience: B
. . . staff friendliness: D
. . . staff attentiveness: D
. . . character interaction: B

NOTE: H&V had previously been an eatery-of-choice for Studio guests.
But, *possibly* due to DDP and reduction in tips, the food selection and
quality has suffered significantly. We found it badly kept, and with less
than hospitable CM's. However, the character interaction for the kiddies
is pretty good with Jake from Jake and the Neverland Pirates, June from
Little Einsteins, Special Agent Eso, and Handy Manny. Dinner changes
daily and has no characters.

I am not surprised. Hollywood and Vine is the worst restaurant in Disney.

I have been saying this for years. It is one of only 2 restaurants in all of WDW we will not return to.
It was dirty , we were surrounded by dirty unbused tables, our waitress was RUDE. The hot food was not hot, the cold food was not cold. The Ladies Room was filthy.
Never again.

I guess we got lucky in the bathroom was clean, crowded since I guess it shares with Prime Time it looked like.

Ugh, we are taking the kids there for the first time for breakfast, only because they are really into the disney junior characters right now, but otherwise I would love to cancel it.

We were there at 9 for breakfast last month. Breakfast there was actually pretty good. I do hate dinner there though!

Bfast was good 1 year ago for us, nothing fancy and not as many choices as Crystal Palace I didn't think, but at least it was clean! You should be fine for bfast, I think.

We ate there last year at lunch it was great. My 6 year old loved the characters and the food was good (as far as buffets go). It was very clean and the restrooms were clean. Our waitress was great. That said, we ate there for breakfast several years ago and it was not good at all. I really think it depends on the staff at the time.

I didn't particularly care for the dinner we had here last year. DS liked it and has chosen breakfast for our upcoming trip, so breakfast it is.

Our lunch there last year wasn't horrible... Edible but definitely left a lot of things on my plate that I took one bite of and then moved on to something else. I would skip it entirely except my son is obsessed with Jake so we are having breakfast there.

One more gripe about this restaurant... Could they please update the characters? No one really cares about Oso or Little Einsteins. I'd love to see Jake, Hook, Izzy, and Doc Mcstuffins!!!
