We are splurging for 2 nights at the AKL CL after 10 nights at POR and we made an ADR at Boma for the night that we switch to AKL. I've heard great things about Boma, my favorite blogger even says it is her favoritere restaurant , not just Disney, but ever. My question is that since they serve Boma food on the club level, would it be worth it for us to go there or should we go somewhere else? We are already having a hard time picking and choosing where to eat for the whole trip. This is our first WDW trip, our honeymoon and we are both big foodies and love trying new things. We are San Francisco area Disneyland annual passholders, but its much easier to figure out eating jn Disneyland. Would our time be better spend somewhere else since we will have the opportunity to We are splurging for 2 nights at the AKL CL after 10 nights at POR and we made an ADR at Boma for the night that we switch to AKL. We're really close to our first trip ever, so I can't recommend what to try based on experience. HOWEVER, if I ever get to stay at AKL we'll be eating at Sanaa and/or Jiko. They get good reviews consistently and the food pictures look amazing. If you are foodies, I think you'd enjoy these other two more than Boma.

The amount of treats that you will receive club level will NOT even compare to the buffet. You are only staying two days. It will be a few little bites of appetizers. Don't get me wrong, you don't go eat at the CL level and then off to dinner, but it does not compare.
If Boma is on your list for buffets - go. You will not be disappointed and you might get something you didn't try on other days at CL, but you can never really know. |

I have stayed club at AKL. The nightly offerings are a teeny-weenie sampling of what you would find at Boma. During our stay, there were generally 2 hot offerings, plus a few cold.
I'd suggest emailing your Concierge and asking what the offerings will be during your stay. (A couple weeks in advance, not to far.) They should be able to give you a idea what offerings will be served. Boma doesn't require a credit card hold. So, you can cancel at the last minute.

We just stayed AKL CL & had dinner 1 night at Boma. We LOVED Boma!! It will be a must do for every trip now on. Even our 7 yr old could not stop trying things & eating. The butternut squash soup was amazing! Literally tastes like melted pumpkin pie just like they tell you. Yes, we recognized a few appetizers from there in the lounge, but it wasn't enough so say not eat at Boma.

We just did AKL CL for 6 nights last week of Aug. What we did was have TS lunches, then supplemented in the CL lounge in the evenings with their appies and desserts, wine, cordials, etc. For us it was plenty of food. as mentioned 2 hot appies, cold, veggies and dip, flatbreads and Humus, cheese assort. and crackers, wine, beer. Then desserts a little later.
Since you're only going to be there 2 days, I would say, enjoy the CL, and do lunch Table Service. It would be a shame to have big dinner TS and not make use of the lounge. Just my opinion. We do love Boma. But maybe you can do it before you move to CL.

Thank you for all the input! I think we will try to switch our ADR to lunch. Sounds like Boma is not to be missed. I was also thinking about eating at Jiko, so I'll have to look into ADRs for there as well.

Neither Boma or Jiko serve lunch.

We just returned from AKL CL and ate at all three restaurants. They were all amazing. Maybe try Boma for breakfast during your stay and then Jiko or Sanaa for dinner. Good luck choosing.

Agreed. There is hardly anything out there to be more than a bite or two. They only have a few things and I do mean a few. And what is offered may not trip your trigger at all. It didn't mine. I just ate some of the bread and hummus and then a few crispie bars.

I would stick with Boma. As others have said, the CL offerings will not compare to what you get on the buffet. We have not stayed CL at AKL, but having stayed other CLs, the offerings are just small samples of what you would receive in the restaurants. Boma is a favorite of ours and we make sure we go there every trip. Good luck deciding

If you want something really special at AKL, I recommend Jiko. It is truly outstanding with an incomparable menu and wine list. The service is outstanding as well. Boma is very good, but if you want an experience - Jiko is the place.

Sanaa for lunch
I believe Sanaa is open for lunch. Maybe try that while you're over at AK area?
Let us know how you like the AK club level. I want to do a SHORT stay with my son and husband to AK and am thinking of club level based on our anniversary trip at the Contemporary. |

Thank you for all the advice. Planning this trip is a bit overwhelming but the DISboards have been a huge help. It's such a huge difference than our quick weekends at Disneyland. We are keeping our BOMA reservations and I made ADR for Jiko the next night. I will for sure let you know how the stay goes.

For the rest of the trip we also have ADRs at Be Our Guest, Biergarten, Rose and Crown(going to attempt to get a patio spot), Yak and Yeti, Spirit of Aloha, Le Cellier (for lunch), Sci-fi Dine-In Theater, and Raglan Road. We are still trying to figure out a few meals, maybe Ohana, Cindrellas Castle, not sure.
