Best way to get the reservations I want??

I read about how people have such a hard time getting reservations for the restaurants that they want/are popular.

I'm made my list of where we want to eat. So how do I make sure I get reasonable times or at least get in there?

We are not booking till March, going in August..but I know we can prebook the meals before the trip (none of the one's I'm planning charge a cc up front).

So do I check online each morning when my 180 days begins...so if i'm going 6days, I have to make a reservation each day for a week?

Is it better to go online (I'm usually up about 6am EST) or call to get in?

I'm flexible on which day/what time, but there are a few places on my really want list so I'm looking for tips to be sure I get them.

If you're a guest at a WDW resort you can add the length of your stay to the 180 days, for instance if you're staying 4 nights you can make ADRs 184 days in advance and yes you CAN make them all that day..

This past round I reserved on my 184th day out and got all the ressies I wanted except one with no problems. That particular one I got for a different night and I simply altered the days I had planned to be at which park to match my dining schedule

The Command considers us a bunch of losers. But we’re gonna do it right this time, ’cause we’re the best. If we don’t... We’ll be drummed out of the corps.

If you book at your 180 day window, you'll have very little to worry about. You'll get what you're looking for.

Don't you have to have a reservation number to make an ADR at 180 days? If you book in March then you won't be able to book until then. That gives you about 5 months not 6 to book in advance. You'll still likely be able to get them, but some hard to get ADR's might not be at good times.

Can someone else verify if this is correct?

You have to have a reservation # to book at 180+10 days. Anyone can book at 180 days.

If none of your ADRs require a CC guarantee, then you should be fine. It's the CC guarantee ones that are the "hard to get" ADRs that everyone wants, for the most part.
