On a 7 night there will be Pirate night, Formal night and Semi-Formal night. The other nights will be cruise casual. Happy Packing!!

We just returned from the 7-night western itinerary on the Fantasy and here was how our dinners lined up:

1: Cruise casual
2: Formal
3: Cruise casual
4: Cruise casual
5: Pirate
6: Semi-Formal
7: Cruise casual

You may know this already, but each deck with staterooms has a "launderette" with 2 washers and 4 dryers. We were able to get a load of laundry down on day 4 which made things a lot easier - obviously the laundry facilities get more crowded later in the cruise. Hope that's helpful!

For my brothers we're buying a shirt tie and vest comb and they can wear the pants shirt and tie on sm night and the a blazer a different shirt (maybe since they're so far apart) the vest and tie on formal night no need for mutiple outfits

The main dining rooms were WAY more casual than I have seen on other cruise lines (Celebrity and Royal Caribbean). Many people were in jeans and it was not uncommon to see people in shorts even though shorts are technically not allowed. We brought way too many clothes for dinner. If I was doing it again, I would bring:
1 formal dress
1 semiformal dress (though I did consider wearing the same dress for both nights)
1 pirate outfit
1 pair of cute jeans
2-3 cute tops to wear with the jeans (probably two and I'd wear each one twice)

This helps a lot for our first cruise coming up! We also have Palo booked for brunch and dinner, daytime activities and ports (pv and cabo). Please help me not take every outfit I own! Lol! Any and all suggestions welcome! I am not the type of person who walks around in a bathing suit or even shorts all day, I prefer my jeans or capris! Nice ones though!

Just back from the Fantasy and I also thought that people dressed way more casual than I thought they would. Lots of shorts (even on formal/semi-formal nights), t-shirts with sayings, jeans...you name it, it was there. after the first night, we stopped being so concerned about what to wear as we were almost always way more dressed up than half the people there! After reading these boards for 19 months before our cruise, I am convinced that people put way way way too much thought into what they will wear to eat.

Nice list mdvlprof!! Perfect.

It's really up to you what you wear, except for Palo or Remy. But we love to get even a bit dressed up for dinner. So here is what our party wore:

Casual Dress nights - sundress/skirt or dress capris with a nice top for the women / dockers and polo or tommy bahama type shirts for the men

Semi-Formal, Formal Night, and Remy & Palo - cocktail dress for the women / suit for the men

So I brought 4 cocktail dresses and 4 different casual outfits. The shoes are always the problem. But this time I tried my best to stick to outfits that went with black shoes. This helped a lot.

Don't formal-night yourself out (as we say). After 11 cruises I learned I didn't wear half the "nice" clothes I brought. For casual nights my daughter and I wear capris and dress blouses. My husband wears khakis and a golf shirt or button down. On formal night he wears a dress shirt and tie (no more jackets) with dress pants and shoes; my daughter and I wear skirts and blouses. I usually bring one black skirt and two very dressy blouses with accessories (scarf, jewelry, etc.). We all bring one pair of dress shoes or sandals.

I'm not packing for dinner. I plan to eat the food provided on the ship.

Sorry, every time I see the title to this thread it always makes me think that the OP is asking what to pack for dinner.

Wearing capris and a nice top to Palo brunch is fine. I wore my semi-formal dress for Palo dinner and for semi-formal night. I only had to pack two dresses as I wore capris for all other dinners. DD doesn't own capris as she lives and works in Florida and lives in shorts - wears costumes once she gets to work, so, she took four dresses and one pair of nice jeans. Out of the six total dresses, we only had to send one out for pressing - $4. And, it was just the two of us seated at a 4-top so we didn't stress about what we were wearing!

Thank you all for your replies! Trying to keep our luggage to one carry on per person! Most of my dresses and capris pack up pretty small and won't need to be pressed! We travel often, but this is our first cruise! The girls are pretty good about packing light! Of course there clothes and shoes are much smaller than mine! LOL!
