Spambots can read the phone # and copy the numbers over into a database... if it spelled out like that, a computer cant understand it. its a way to make sure whoever is calling is a human...

some webpages can also view it as a phone number...

We don't ever put our phone number in the listing/ad.

We email it to them if we think they are serious and not a scam.

Anyway just thought I would share. Good Luck selling!

Same. No need to have your number out there for any crackpot to dial.

I use my phone number and I only respond to phone calls. The riff raff will never phone you, but will clutter your email box.

That is fine they can clutter my email all they want. I guess it is a matter of preference.

did a couple listings thru the summer. Can't believe how many people are "so interested" then never show up to look. Just don't get it

Furniture is slow to move even if it is free.

And then you do a "curb alert" for "free stuff". For some reason that lights a fire under people. Now that requires you to give out your address however if you have a lot of stuff to dump then that is an option. For a couple of things, I would not.

My sister ended up recycling my parents old printers. No one would buy them or take them for free. They were good printers, just needed ink. Kicker was they were not wireless so pretty much that made them trash.

So it really depends on "what" you are trying to get rid of.

One time some guy was selling basically his whole house and we wanted the bedroom set. He put a time on it, something to the effect..."first come, first serve". It worked.

We were second in line. The first guy wanted the washer/dryer. The line after us was nuts. We were early.
