Anyone ever buy dolls on Ebay? Are they authentic dolls?

I have, and yes they are authentic.

Now's not a good time to buy them *close to the Holidays* the summer months are a great time.

*I've also sold AG dolls on ebay ~ and yes mine were authentic.

I have purchased one and it was authentic. As with everything on eBay, you have to watch and be careful.

The one thing I would be "suspect" of - the AG Doll Sale dolls.

Every year - The Pleasant Company donates all their catalog returns and everything is sold on as as-is basis. So - I would be somewhat cautious of sellers on ebay from the Madison Wisconsin area.

They somehow "mark" the dolls sold at this sale, but I do not know how.

This sale is a great thing - the proceeds benefit a local children's museum.

But these are the dolls where the eyes may not work properly, or the hair might not be "perfect".

So, yes - these dolls may be authentic AG dolls - but these ones may be seconds.

Nearly all of them on EBAY are authentic all every once and awhile one will come along that is clearly a forgery. Look for bulging eyes or hair that just doesn't quite look right. It is more common that you will see bad haircuts, finger nail polish or other marks and stains on used dolls.

I've bought a couple. I've kind of made a hobby out of restoring them and then donating them to a nearby agency that serves developmentally disabled youth.
I'm getting pretty good at removing marker stains and rewigging.

The dolls from the Children's Museum sale will have a small black x on their bum.

These dolls usually have a little 'x' on them somewhere, as does everything else that is sold at the sale, so that the buyers can't try to turn around and return it to AG for retail price.
