June v. July

Anyone have any advice on June v. July for a 7-day Eastern or Western Caribbean cruise?

We've never cruised before. Weather? Personal preferences? Excursion availability? On board activities?

Just a newbie here!

I like eastern and we split the months to take advantage of the holiday and save a vacation day. It allows DH and I an extra travel day on either side to get back to work. We both have lots of vacation time at work, but we also like to vacation...a lot!

Reason I like eastern - extra sea day. We've been to Alaska, Bahamas and western and seems like itineraries are go, go, go all the time. I like the extra time to enjoy the ship and not feel like you have to get off at a port. The ports that people tell you to stay on, everyone is starting to follow that advice, so the ship is pretty busy. Also, western was in fall and seas were rougher. Don't know if it's always the case or time of year. Had times that it was difficult to walk straight. Have never been that bad in eastern or Alaska (both summer).

No matter what, you'll have a fantastic vacation!

We went on the Dream 3 night last June to Castaway Cay and Nassau. The weather was great and we had a blast! We have never cruised in July but I would think the crowds and weather would be similar due to kids being out of school and summer. Unless you go the first week in June maybe.

Here's a monthly comparison chart for Orlando's weather. The farther south you go, the hotter it gets.
