Recent experience of Disney Cruise line transfers

hi guys
Trying to decide how to get to Port for our cruise...previously we have driven our own hire car (this time doing back to back so don't want to pay mega bucks for parking unused car) and towncar, but considering Disney transfers. We are staying at Art of animation pre-cruise but would want to be taken to Boardwalk Villas afterwards where we are staying for New Year. Is this a problem?
Also, what time are people typically being picked up and dropped off at the moment?

The DCL transfers go to/from all the WDW resorts, so, picking up at one and returning to another isn't a problem. Pick up at the resorts is in the 11:30-12:30 window. You will be notified what time to be at the pickup area. For the return, once you are off the ship, and through customs, you go to where the DCL busses are and they will ask you what resort and direct you to the correct bus. Once the bus is full, they depart, so there's not really a set time, but they go fairly frequently. Each bus may make up to 3 stops (so it's possible that there would be 2 stops before your resort), it can take anywhere from an hour to 3 hours to get from the port to your resort.

As the PP said, no problem taking DCL transfers from one resort to get to the port and then going to a different resort when you return. With DCL transfers, you generally don't get to the ship until 1:30ish. (The PP was correct that current pick up times from the resorts are around 11:30 to 12:30; but our experience has been if you have an 11:30 pick up time, it just means that your bus has to make a couple of stops before you start heading out to the port. One bus we were on picked up from our resort and 3 others.)If you want to get there earlier, you either have to arrange a car service or do a rental. You can do a one-way rental and drop it off in Port Canaveral before your cruise so you don't pay to park it. Then you have all your options for the return -- can take DCL transfers, rent another car or arrange another car service.
