Booking Windows for excursions and Palo reservations

This will be our first time on DCL. According to the Disney planning tool on the webiste, we are not able to start booking our excursions until April 24th for our July 8th cruise.

I know that CC members get to make reservations early. Can anybody give me an idea of how much earlier CC members will be booking? How likely is it that our group of 9 will miss out on the most popular excursions (Alaskan cruise)? Do we have a shot at Palo reservations?

Concierge rooms and Platinum CC members book at 120 days out.
Gold CC members at 105 days out.
Silver CC members at 90 days out.
First time cruisers at 75 days out.

Palo, maybe. If you don't get them online, you can book them as soon as you get onboard, as DCL hold back about half the available reservations for booking onboard. You go to the Palo reservation table once onboard to make reservations.

Silver CC members can book at 90 days, gold members at 105 and platinum and concierge guests at 120 days. If you don't get to book the excursions you want, keep checking. People do cancel and excursions can be canceled up to 3 days prior to the sailing date. You can also go to Guest Services when you board and ask if they have a wait list for the one(s) you want.

As for Palo...... they hold back about 50% of the reservations for people to book on board (brunch and dinner). If you don't get to book Palo online, go to the location listed in the Navigator they give you at check in to talk with the Palo folks.

Palo--1/2 of the reservations are never released on line. They can only be booked after boarding.

As to excursions....we booked Alaska with a company called "Shore Trips" (or maybe it was shore tours....on line. They were about 1/3 less than going thru the cruise line and used many of the same vendors! We were very happy with the service. We got a voucher on line with explicit details of how and where to meet our tour; no problems at all. The only thing we couldn't get was zip line in Victoria because the cruise line had purchased all the available spots.

Great idea!! We spent a fortune on excursions when we did Alaska on NCL.

Thanks everyone. I kept seeing the mention of 120 days on these boards, so I was really surprised when I saw our date. I'm going to look on the bright side and view my late as giving me more time to plan (and change my mind, and change my mind again).

I'm glad to hear that so many Palo reservations are held back. I won't panic if we don't get an online reservation.
