Can someone help with a touring plan for MNSSHP?
I just want to start by thanking everyone for the info I've gained from the boards. Very helpful in planning our first trip! I subscribed to touring plans but I didn't find a good way to customize a plan for the MNSSHP, especially since I'm not really sure what events take place there other than fireworks and a parade.
We are attending the Halloween party on Oct 30. Although we are American, we have lived abroad for many years and it will be my 5 year old's first Halloween! So, we are mostly interested in trick or treating and parade. I don't think he will care about characters (if Spiderman were there, it would be a different story!) He probably wouldn't mind getting pictures with Toy Story characters, if there are any. We will arrive at 4pm for rides until 7. We have a full day planned at the MK earlier in our vacation where we will cover Fantasy Land and Adventure Land so going back to rides in that area isn't a priority.
Can someone help me with a touring plan that includes Tomorrow Land and Haunted Mansion (nothing scary, no Space Mountain for example) and events for the Halloween party? I read one tip that said to find a place to watch the parade by Hall of Presidents? What time should we try to find a place? We are happy to do any activity that has the least crowds. Thanks so much for any help!

For parade, Hall of Presidents or anywhere in Frontierland should see less crowds than the Hub or Main Street. Second parade is often less crowded. You can probably get by with a decent spot 20-30 minutes before if you do this.
No touring plan required if you're not doing rides or character M&Gs. Parades at 8:15p and 10:30p I believe, and fireworks at 9:30p. Don't miss either, they are both very good.
Don't forget about a dozen trick-or-treat locations around the park either, marked by large, lit Mickey pumpkins.
WDW: 44 visits (4 MNSSHPs, 1 MVMCP, and 400+ M&Gs);
DLR: 1 visit DLH; DCL: 1 5-night Dream; Universal Orlando: 11 visits
The Six-Park Six-Pack: 6 parks, 14 rides, 1 day -- 11/06/11
