Maybe more people in our party

We currently have 3 ADRs for a party of 3---coral reef, chef mickey and h & v. 2 more people may be joining our party, but it may be a week or so before we can finalize. They want to do meals with us....an adult and child. We are currently about 50 days out. Would it be best to up the reservation to a party of 5 now and then back it down to 3 if the plans fall through?

Thanks!
Susan

If you are able (if there's availability for a party of 5) then, yes, go ahead and change it now. You can always show up to an ADR with less people than are on the ressie. However, it is not always possible to show up with more people than are on the ressie.

Yes, get the reservation increased as soon as you can. Think about it. Right now, the three of you can be seated at a table for four. If you increase by two, you will either need a table for six or a table for four pushed together with a table for two.

If the other two don't join you, it's much easier to just put that table for six or that extra table for two back into the mix.

1) Disney is getting wise to the "but, they decided to join us".
2) People can't always get the ADR they want.
3) So, they under-count to get a table.
4) Then, they show up with "unexpected" additional people.
5) In a team meeting, CM's have been told to warn guests against this.
6) If there is room, WDW will not turn away revenue.
7) But, if busy, they will turn away the additions.
8) Go ahead any arrive with the extras, if you like.
9) Just be prepared to have someone stand around while you eat.
