Thanksgiving Day at MK

Right now I have us going to MK on Thanksgiving....

But now I am second guessing, Should we re-arrange our schedule and do MK on Wed instead of Turkey Day? do AK on Thursday?

Is it really really bad crowd wise? Will we be miserable?

It is also an EMH park that day so I'm afraid that will make it even worse...

YES, the park will be very, very crowded.

Best plan is to get there EARLY, do the things you really want to do and LEAVE.

I wish I were at WDW everyday

MK is very crowded on Thanksgiving Day. It is also very festive and fun if you get in and out early. Last trip we opted to stay till close at MK the night before, and slept in on thursday. We had breakfast at Crystal Palace, and did some shopping and character meet and greets, before heading back to the pool. ( Many more characters out and about that day it seems.) The trip before, we went for rope drop, rode everything we could before heading to a late breakfast at Park Faire and then renting boats at GF Marina. Midday is just too much for us on a holiday.

This year we have a 10:30 ADR at CP and dinner adrs at Captains Grille. We are staying at BC and hope the weather cooperates for a pool day.

Have a great trip!

First of all the EMH is in the morning on Thaksgiving Day get there early.
Yes its going to be crowded but not Christmas Day-we have to close the park-crowded.
One year we did AK and it felt more crowded than MK
The only park that was ok because its huge was Epcot
We have been going now for 5 years and we don't even go to parks on Thanksgiving day.
we try for the most unusual day possible. Room Service for breakfast and spend the day in a water park then dinner at one of the resorts.

Whatever you decide have fun!

Been there, done that since 1979 and will do it again at Disney!!!

Went to MK on Thanksgiving 2009 and it was jammed. All waits seemed to be close to an hour or more(even Stitch) around noonish.

Went to AK on Thanksgiving 2011 and it was much better. Keep in mind last year they opened AK at 8am each day that week so both AK and MK might possible have 8am openings on Thanksgiving Day.

We went to animal kingdom on thanksgiving in 2010, and it was a very moderate crowd. We hopped to the studios for dinner and had to park in the last row of the parking lot at DHS.

AK is the way to go!

We were there on T-day last year and we did EMH and left early afternoon w/dinner at 1900PF, and had no problems. I surprised DD w/ BBB & CRT brft. while DH & DS did rides. We had more trouble the next day(black Fri.). We got in early for CP brft., and the photos from before & after brft. tell the story. But if you have a plan and use FP it's manageable. Seeing the castle lighting and memories show was well worth it!
