Pre Cruise Stay at WDW - Boardwalk Inn or Wilderness Lodge?
Hi all -- We decided to fly in a day early for our Feb cruise departure and thought it might be fun to stay at the world. Any thoughts of Wilderness Lodge or Boardwalk in for a family of 4? We get in around lunchtime and if we decide to do an afternoon park it will likely be MK. I've stayed at WL a couple of years ago without kids and loved it so the BI would be something new. just wanted your thoughts!

If it's only one night, you want to go to MK and don't have a car I'd take WL over Boardwalk.

We plan on doing something similar for our cruise. I decided to go with Boardwalk because you can walk to both EPCOT and Hollywood Studios. I also enjoy just walking on the Boardwalk and seeing the various activities that go on there. If you stay at Wilderness Lodge, you could always take the boat over to the Magic Kingdom. Since you would be staying on property, you can take advantage of the extra magic hours, and I would check to see if MK is open later so you can get the most out of the park.

If you want to do Magic Kingdom the WL. If you want to skip doing a park probably BW.

I prefer WL over BW but if your looking for large rooms you should consider Old Key West. Those rooms are larger for your family of 4. If you are looking for better access to MK you should consider Bay Lake Tower.
Have a great time on your upcoming cruse and WDW visit.

If we skip the park is there a lot to do at BW? Is there enough there to entertain a 5 and 3 year old? I love the look of the pool area but not sure if it will be too chilly in February. I am also really keen on trying something new.

We like both but nothing could beat WL for a winter trip! It's so cozy with all the fireplaces & warm colors & wood beams. Perfect.

Would you consider the Poly? You can zip right over to MK on the monorail, and watching the fireworks at night from the beach is quite lovely! We did this for one night before our cruise last year and were very happy. Ate our tonga toast in the morning and then headed out to the Dream!

Though all the hotels decorate, I think Wilderness has an inherant winter/Christmas feel to it.

We always stay at WL prior to a cruise. It's a short boat ride to MK and usually a lot less expensive than BW.

The boardwalk itself is fun at night. There is a bunch of entertainment along the walk.

I'd go to the Beach Club instead. You could leave the kids in the Sandcastle club and go to Epcot or to one of the clubs in the boardwalk area...
Get them used to the kids club in the ship.
