As long as they aren't hurting me, I am ok with it.
As a matter of fact, we did see security come out of the woodwork to escort some drunks backstage once at F&W. It was a couple of years ago. Four or five college age kids were being really obnoxious and loud. They were stumbling around, bumping into people, and spilling their drinks a little. We had seen them at several of the countries and were trying to stay ahead of them. Just as we were entering France, some security guys came out of a doorway to a backstage area, right there next to Chefs de France (on the left hand side if you are facing the restaurant). I didn't even realize that door was there, as I'd never noticed it before, but suddenly a bunch of security guys came out, talked to the drunk group, and very quickly hustled them all back through that door. We stopped to watch because we figured there might be a fight or something. Two of the drunks got loud and one young lady yelled out, "Why are you kicking me out? I'm not drunk. I'm just with them." I was shocked at how quicky WDW security got them out of there and back stage and still not sure how they did it, without causing a bigger scene.
There was enough security guys there, that they just sort of swallowed this group up and hustled them backstage.
At another F&W festival we were down there for, we saw a drunk vomiting into the bushes right outside Norway. That was more funny than anything though.
We love F&W and those are the only two instances I can remember noticing any drunks. We'll be back down there Oct 27th-Nov 4th and just plan on avoiding the weekends.
