Hi everyone. Taking our 1st trip to the Fort with our new travel trailer and was wondering if anyone knew of a good place to stop for the night on I-10 coming from Houston heading east. Any help is appreciated.

We are making our first trip to The Fort in December from New Hampshire. We are trying to figure out where we are going to stay on the way down as well. Good luck with your travels.

We always stop at the Inn & Out RV park. It's near the intersection of I 75 and US 90 at Lake City FL (half mile East). It's ok for overnight with full hookups and lots of eating places on site (Subway) and nearby (full range of choices). Close to a Wal Mart and a big box home improvement... maybe Home Depot(?). We've stayed there for maybe 15 years going and coming.

Take I-81 then I-77 then I-25 to I-95 We almost always stop overnight at Harrisburg East Campground, Harrisburg PA - Wytheville KOA, Wytheville VA - New Green Acres Campground, Walterboro SC on our way to the fort. Have fun!

If you make it into the Panhadle, Florida state parks are great, our favorite is Henderson Beach state park and Top Sail in the Destin area. They have nice pull thrus and are on the Beach. You do have to make reservations far out and they are online and show the sites available.

we go to Florida to see Mickey and mom and dad almost every year, usually we drive straight though with a quick power nap... but lately I'm getting a little tired and DW can't drive anymore, not that she would every drive when we pulled the camper anyway, with that said I think I'll be pulling into some of the places others have suggest to other travelers in the past... some KOA's along the way.
