Wow. That's a shock.

HA HA HA...funny, funny.

Look! A hidden Mickey!!!

Good catch, Tim.

Beautiful sight!

Yes, it is, isn't it?

Awwww. Poor Mark.
He hates texting; he just wants to talk on the phone, nothing else.

Yes, and it is so unusual....we've only had one at check-in prior to that on all our visits.

Those drinks at Raglan look really good. That beer looks really good right now.

That is Mark's favorite beer.

Congrats on your APs!!!!!

Thank you!

A little DIS meet while waiting... cool!

All caught up, until your next update.
It was a nice DIS meet....we enjoyed meeting Tracy and Mark.

Yes, now I have three tickers.

Two definites and a possible third--December, June and August. Wouldn't it be great if the December trip became an annual thing?

Arrival Day, Part 4

Let's wrap up arrival day, shall we?

But first, I want to share a picture with you. We went to the Wrestling Alumni Hall of Fame Dinner this past Saturday night for the high school Mark went to and he and Alisha came in. Here is me and my girl:

Okay, on with the show. When I last updated, we had a DIS meet with Tracy and her husband, Mark.

With still no text, we decided to head on a bus to the Studios and then grab a bus from there to The Beach Club for our ADR at Cape May.

An empty bus which was the norm for us almost everywhere we went:

After getting off the bus at the Studios, we asked where the bus was to go to Beach Club and they suggested we take the boat instead, so we did. Walking over to the boat, Mark got a little wet as it had started to rain again:

We arrived too early for our ADR, so we stopped in the gift shop to look around (I love the Beach Club theme and it is the last deluxe resort I want to try). Mark decided to have some fun to pass the time:

I started getting text messages that our dinner guest was on her way. I found out about a week or so before our trip that Tarzanskat here on the DIS was doing a solo trip to Disney, so Mark and I invited her to join us for dinner. I was thrilled to meet her as we had corresponded on the DIS over a time about some family issues.

When Tarzanskat arrived, we sat and visited and exchanged little gifts. I was upset though because I had gotten her two little boys something, but the items were in my suitcase which we still did not have since we still didn't have a room.

Mark took a picture of us, but Kat doesn't like her picture posted on the DIS, so you only get a smudged Kat and me:

Shortly, thereafter, our beeper buzzed and it was time to go to the Clambake. I was very excited for this as I LOVE CRAB LEGS.

Continued in next post

Arrival Day, Part 4 (Continued)

We were seated for dinner and our wonderful waitress came over and took our drink order. After the day we'd had, I definitely needed a pina colada.

Although we were all starving, we let Mark go first so that Kat and I could talk. While we were talking, she was drawing pictures with the crayons left at the table; turns out she used to be an artist and it turns out a very good one.

How about some food porn:

The food was good, but nothing spectacular. The crab legs were too much work and didn't have a lot of flavor. I'm not sure we would go back. However, the company was wonderful. Kat, we so enjoyed meeting you.

We departed the restaurant and walked toward the Boardwalk with Kat (she was going back to Epcot). We still had not received a text message so decided to stroll the Boardwalk and then take the boat back to the Studios and then catch a bus back to OKW.

Back at the Studios on the way to the bus, we stopped for this picture:

Finally back to OKW at 8:30 at night , I went into the lobby to check on our room while Mark went to the gift shop to get some water for the room. I asked if our room was ready and I was very nastily told that they'd sent me
a text message hours ago....around 3 p.m. I told them that I had NO text message and I had checked at 3 p.m. and was told our room was still not ready. To say I was not happy was putting it mildly, but I was too tired to get into it or ask for a manager. I did not receive a "I'm sorry" or anything.

We finally walked over to our room as it was in walking distance from the Hospitality House. We were in Building 18 (1816). We walked in and found this:

After checking the bed for bedbugs and making sure the room was clean, I took some pictures so that we could quickly unpack and hit the sack...we were running on empty:

View from our patio:

Luggage unpacked, it was time to hit the sack. It was now after 10 p.m. and we'd been up for over 18 hours and had an early morning coming up.

Oh NO! I'm so sorry that you didn't enjoy Cape May! We've always had a great meal there. The little snow crab legs are a lot of work, but Bryan's really really quick at it so maybe that's why it doesn't bother me?

So sorry that you had to wait so long to get into your room and that they were rude to you about it. Definitely not a magical start.

Love the Funny Hat Pictures though! Keep 'em coming!

That is a long wait for a room! We had a similar experience at VWL - no text, called and finally went back to the resort after hours at DTD - I made the trip too soon after major surgery, so was more than ready to have a room.

It looks like you hit the jackpot with room location and view! OKW is such a pretty resort, but I've been hesitant to try it since we rarely rent a car. How did you like the bus - did it feel like a long ride to everywhere?

Oh, how an AP draws one back....and back...and back. I had one for 4 years and made good use of that AP! Know you're going to enjoy putting it to good use as well! Annual December trip?

Fingers crossed that the Girls Trip comes together!

DIS Meets are the best!!

(p.s. great photo of you and your lovely Alisha. Pretty ladies!)

Agree with you on the crab legs. My Mark was not a happy man. Gimme Fulton's anytime! I do love their other offerings, though. The view from your room was beautiful. Glad you were in a nice area. Boo on the cast member. I don't get it. We had the best luck with anyone we had to speak with. Thus, the DVC purchase. LOL

I hope the rest of your trip was magical. Yay on the girls trip! I'm planning a solo soon!

Looks like a fairly pleasant evening. So glad you could meet up with Tarzanskat! You were rocking the DIS meets on the very first day.

Sorry the food wasn't spectacular. I've always steered clear of Cape May just because I don't really go for seafood. But having great company helps every meal.

Sorry the desk at OKW wasn't a good experience. The room looks pretty sweet, though.

Boo on the bad crab legs and rude CM.

On the other hand your room looks gorgeous! I like the pictures of The Boardwalk, as I've never been there. It's on my list to visit next trip though!

Yay for yet another Dis Meet and you've only been in Disney for a day! It's too bad that the crab legs weren't worth the trouble. I've always thought the same thing. Too much trouble...just give me a plate full of shrimp instead.

Man, what was up with the check-in staff? It sounds like they were all having a bad day. They could have at least said "I'm sorry."

OK...lots of speedreading to catch up

Sorry for the loss of Mark's Mom and your issues with your Mom That must be hard. We sometimes get people in from nursing homes when they become violent, and it breaks my heart. She must have been so frightened to lash out like that

Yay for APs and DIS meets

OKW looks lovely!!!

OK was the second CM a different grumpy CM???? That's insane! Why do people bring their bad days to work....
