Worth it for us or not? I cant get the calculator sites to work

We are: 2 adults and 1 child (as far as paying for the DP) with 2 other children under 3 (2 and 11 mths)

We will be there 7 nights.

Never have ate at the parks besides turkey legs LOL.

ALso do the turkey legs count with DDP?

To see if the dining plan will be right for you, you need to ask yourself a few questions and then cost out the menus from the restaurants you would eat in.

1) How do you eat? Do you eat three full meals a day or two meals?
2) Do you want to eat in restaurants or counter service places?

A guide I use for the regular dining plan is: $12-QS, $35-TS, $4-snack;
Deluxe Dining Plan guide is: $25-per TS(you get 3) and $4-per snack(you get 2)--this is based on the 2012 cost.

If you aren't going to spend at least this amount at each meal, you won't save money. If you get the deluxe plan, it is easiest to eat at the signature restaurants which will take 2 TS meals. That way you will only have to eat two meals and two snacks each day(or some combination of that).

Your 10 yr old will have to get an adult dining plan. You can view menus with prices at allears.net.

I hope this helps.

Turkey legs count as a counter service entree. With them you can get a drink and dessert; some places may have a bag of chips instead of a dessert.

It's a tough question to answer, because it varies wildly on how you eat, what you eat, and where you're planning to eat.

Our party, typically, has been 2 adults and 3 kids (10 and under)...until this year.

We've used the Basic plan, for most trips...because the savings on the kids side was so good. On the adult side...we realistically probably saved somewhere between 3 and 5%. If THAT was all we were getting, I'd say it would not have been worth it. But, having those 3 kids under 10....where we were probably saving more like 20% to 30% every day (we do a considerable number of character buffets)..they made it worthwhile.

This year...we're a party of 4 adults (my oldest is 10, now..and we're bringing along my Sister in Law) and 2 kids. We are NOT doing the dining plan. Running the numbers...it just didn't make any sense, at all. Instead, we opted for the Tables in Wonderland card.

Also, to let you know: We're DVC owners..so DDP has no package or ticket requirements. We don't have to pay LONG in advance (we typically pay 30 days in advance) to get it. And we have a full kitchen (which means stuff like the refillable mug adds zero value for us) in our villa. All that factors in.

I would say, given your party make up..it's going to be tough to make the plans work out for you, $$.

Whether they're worthwhile due to convenience or other factors, only you can decide.
