Castaway cay mail

Can someone tell me how long it takes for a postcard sent from castaway cay to arrive in Massachusetts. We have been back for about two weeks now and still no postcards yet. Thanks

About 1000 years

Seriously, they go on island time. Like maybe up to 2 months. If I'd gotten one in 2 weeks, I'd be pleasantly surprised!

It takes 6-8 weeks. Island time takes it's toll!

Forever. Ours took more than 6 weeks. And if you care, Grand Cayman (Hell) took only 2 weeks.

Some people are still waiting. We mailed 4 postcards on our Panama Canal cruise. The first to arrive took about 2 months. The last took about 5 months.

It totally depends on how long the island is running behind! LOL! 6-8 weeks is a good guess, but we've had ones show up as much as 6 MONTHS later.

we mailed postcards from CC on our first cruise (2008) and hadn't heard any estimates on delivery time.

We live in Connecticut and it took ours about 3 months to arrive...I had honestly forgotten that we had mailed them to our family!

Patience is definitely a virture while waiting for mail from Castaway Cay....

We mailed ourselves a postcard from CC in 2004 and we're still waiting for it.

Our CC postcard took forever.

I mailed a postcard to ourselves in St. Thomas and it beat us back home.

How does the postage work? Do you purchase stamps in the country from which you are mailing? Likely not, since one poster stated the post office was closed.

My sister and I send each other a postcard from CC. It sort of became a tradition since it was the last day of the cruise. We would just write about some of the small things that made the cruise memorable. We knew we wouldn't see the cards for several months. So when we finally did get them, it was like receiving a good memory in the mail.

Yes, you have to have stamps/postage from the country you are mailing it from. US stamps won't work for things you mail from CC or Nassau or all other Non-US ports of call. On Castaway Cay, there is a Bahamian post office (bring small bills with you for stamps - can't use your KTTW card there). But it isn't always open (we've made Sunday stops and it's closed; sometimes closes earlier than you need to be back on the ship). So when it isn't open, Guest Services will allow you to drop off your mail with them and they post it next time the ship is in CC.

It took over a month for the postcards we sent to reach the individuals they were sent to in Michigan, Hawaii & Montana. I wondered if they were lost but they eventually showed up.
