O/T logging in on dis.. - The DIS Discussion Forums

sorry this is a bit off topic, but whilst im still logged in thought id ask...

do any of u guys ever have to keep logging in on dis, if u either dont use the page for a bit (but leave it open to dis) or if u refresh (to check for new posts...) as, when i use the laptop, it means im always having to keep logging in - even when i tick the remember me box, i still have to log back in...

dont have this prob on my phone tho?? is there sum settin ive changed and not realised??

I always have this problem, Nikki, but the time I'm kept logged in does vary. Some days though I find I'm having to log in between every post I make.

It happens on both pc and laptops (I don't use my phone for internet) so if it's something I've done wrong I've done it on every computer in the house.

This should really be moved to the Tech board but I'll leave it here a couple of days before moving in case anyone knows the solution!

I don't get this but everyday without fail between 10.00-11.00 French time I get booted off the server for around 20 minutes

I don't know and it's not my internet as it happens on other networks too as I've tried

I am another one this happens to - I think it started happening after the last big upgrade of the boards and from what I remember only happens to me when I use Firefox (all of the time) and not when I use IE. I don't come on here as much as I used to as I have no trips planned (will be a year next week since our last one!) so the logging in all the time doesn't bother me too much at the minute.

I use Google Chrome, it doesn't happen to me, on any of the laptops etc.

Yeah Steve mines chrome too... But I'm wondering if it was after that last big update?? Like sum1 above mentioned?? (Sorry forget who n can't see other posts when piston on phone lol)

It's not a big thing except it seems more 'noticeable' when I'm tryin to post in a rush lol

I'm on chrome and I've always had this problem - sometimes I am timed out even before I have finished writing a post so have to log on again to submit.

Me too!! I thought it was just me or my Internet service or something ( I'm in Germany)...glad I'm not alone...

That happens to me too always around 9.00am

At home I stay logged in constantly, but in work I get logged out frequently, sometimes before I've managed to post a reply.

Sorry should've added using IE at home and work !

I get the same around 9am, I think its just down to the sheer volume of traffic around that time.

Back to the OP i'm on Chrome & have no problem.

I always got kicked off around 9am so never attempt it that time of the morning now.

I tend to use Chrome now but it also happened when I used IE and had been since I started DISing in 2003.
