Does this place have tables that seat 12?

I am wondering to make a reservation for all 12 people or break it down into 3 separate reservations.

Yes, they can seat groups that large, but availability may be very limited, so try to do it on your 180 day. If that fails try 2 groups of 6 or 3 groups of 4.

As a side note, you are aware that you are required to pay for the meal, in full, at the time of booking, right? Just mentioning it, since the hit on your credit card for 12 people will be substantial.

OTOH, if you are using the DDP, and you've got 24 TS credits available, then you're fine.

We were there last Friday for dinner (yes last week at this time I was in the msot magical place - now I'm just stuck in my office!) with a party of 8 and they were able to push tables together for us. If anything, make your reservation together because at least they'll sit you near each other, even if for some reason you can't get at one table. If you make separate reservations you run the risk of being scattered around.

1) You pay ahead of time.
2) But, then you get a refund.

Are you sure? When I did my ADR's at 180 days, I linked it to my reservation (which included the dining plan) and yes, they did ask for a CC, but it was never charged for this or any of my reservations. Maybe because we're party of 2 we didn't have to, but since they are a party of 12 they will?

I booked at 6 months out for CRT, before we had the dining plan, and once we booked dining plan I immediately called to change my CRT ressie to dining plan and I was refunded as soon as I did that.

No, if you connect the reservation with your resort reservation with DDP you do not pay in advance. Just the CC hold.

Your ADRs are just linked to your resort reservation in order to book ADRs at 180+ 10 days and to use the DDP for booking. If you cancel one reservation (but have DDP for both) then it's not a problem. OTOH- if you have to cancel one, cancel the one that isn't linked to your ADRs.

If you were to cancel both reservations, you would still have your ADRs- you would have to cancel your ADRs separately. But I think if the DDP was to disappear from your reservation, your CC would be charged for the CRT meal. I'm not 100% positive about that though.
