Why the difference in deposit

I am wondering why with a package u only pay 200 deposit but with room only it is first nights deposit?? what if you book package for only two nights will u get room only discount? can u change to room only later??

wanting to book next week but really want to just give 200 as
deposit

It's the law in Florida, non package, room only reservations can only require the first night deposit.

Packages looser rules and So Disney requires minimum $200 and full payment 45 days out.

You are also able to put a room only discount on a package - you're just getting a discount on the room.

If you have a package, a room only discount comes out and you want to switch, you'll need to cancel your package and book a room only. You'll receive the $200 depos back on your card and you'll be required to make a new one night room stay deposit on the room only reservation.

No way to skirt around that policy. Sorry.

With the discount, one night room only at AoA or POR may end up being less than the $200, so you might be giving them less as a deposit.

I don't think the standards are gone, I think they just aren't being offered with the discounts.

If you do a package and put down the $200 and do need to cancel, you can push your dates out rather than cancelling so you don't get penalties.

If you do a room only and pay the 1 nights room stay you can cancel up until 5 days before you arrive for a full refund. A night room stay at POR or a standard at AoA will be less than the $200 deposit for a pkg typically.

ETA: BAH... ninja'd!!!

For Pop Century and AoA the tax rate is 12.5% (state sales and county resort tax rates combined)

Most other Disney resorts fall into a different county and the tax rate for most others is 13%
