Is there a way to see what time a computer in my house was being used last night? We have 5 computers all going off the same modem (wireless connection). DS is supposed to get off his computer at a certain time but I think he's staying on way past that time and I want to see how much. Anybody also know of a way to have a timer on our modem so it shuts off at a certain time (if I just turn it off, DS could turn it back on once I'm asleep)?

You could check the Security logs (under Computer or My Computer>manage) and see what time the PC was logged onto and off. Or you can google the instructions of your wireless router and limit his computers IP address to certain times of the day. This is what I do DD is 11 and her PC can not connect to the internet after 9pm, so no webkins, netflix, nothing.

If you have a cable modem you may be able to get control of it this way.

In a browser address window enter:

192.168.0.1

This is usually the internet address of the local router. It should then have a menu of things to change/set/check. One of them may be a shut off time.

I don't know that there are any logs that show when a computer was in use. I do know my cisco wireless router allows me to time limit access based on individual computer. This simply blocks internet access though, not computer usage.

My wife's windows 7 laptop allows me to time limit based on user. However, if your DS has administrative access on his laptop, then he can change the time allowed on his own.

It could also be 192.168.1.1.
