Nikki Giovanni
I just heard her speak at the college here and she was amazing.
I really don't get into going and hearing speakers. I just went with my American lit class. BUT she was sooo funny and I actually enjoyed when she read her poems. Normally I feel like I don't understand poetry but she talked about why she wrote certain things before she read the poem. It was pretty neat. Any fans of hers? |

Any fans? Me! Me!
Since like 1978, when I thought poetry was Keats and T.S. Elliott and encountered "Nikki Rosa" and "Ego Tripping" in a poetry anthology. (yep, old English Lit. major here. ) Wow. Real words that sounded as if somebody might be saying them. ever been kidnapped by a poet if I were a poet I'd kidnap you
