Kona breakfast or yak and yeti lunch?

Hi, we just changed our ressie this morning and we are staying at the Poly for the first time. The had an ADR available for 7:30 on one of our MK days (MK opening at 9 am)

I was thinking of doing Kona at this time and scrapping our ADR at Yak and Yeti for lunch. (different day) WDYT? I figured we should at least eat at Kona once if we're staying at Poly, right?

thanks for your advice!

I have been enjoying the Tonga Toast at a restaurant at the Polynesian since 1980. Now days it is served at the Kona Cafe. They also have very good food for lunch & dinner. Tonga Toast [banana stuffed french toast]is a huge serving and could easily be split between 2 people.

I love Y&Y but agree that you can't walk away from that Kona ADR since by staying at the Poly you have no transport time issues for once.

If the reason you have to drop 1 is that you've maxed out your meal plan credits, remember that breakfast can be the least expensive meal of the day - could you pay for that one OOP and keep the Y&Y ADR too? (yeah, I'm a Disney-dining enabler ).

Kona is very nice but lately I've found that a heavy breakfast leaves me lagging. If it's a choice between the two I would do Y&Y.

We love Kona! Even though we didn't have enough credits left for it this tine around, we opted to pay OOP for it. Last year it was less than $50 for 2 adults and 1 child at breakfast! We are so ready for some of those pancakes and tonga toast!

They are both excellent, so you can't go wrong!

I'd get tonga toast at Captain Cooks and would opt for the Yak & Yeti lunch.

That's what I was thinking too! Love Kona, but YY is our can't miss! Love the Skirt steak, and WonTon dessert. Keep Kona if you still go to YY, but don't give up YY!

(we also get the Tonga Toast at Capn' Cooks every trip!)

Would definitely choose Kona breakfast over Yak & Yeti!

Enjoy

I like both, but no way would I give up lunch at Y&Y for Kona breakfast. We love the lettuce cups, ribs, and pineapple wonton dessert at Y&Y too much.

Breakfast is fairly cheap, so I'd do both and just pay OOP for Konas.
