I have a high school daughter who is freaking out because we are going to disney and she has to miss school. Her high school uses block scheduling so if you are familiar, you know what she is in for. We are able to bring a labtop but the problem is having access to a printer. Are there any suggestions on how to solve this problem for her. This used to be so easy! Take the kids out, they catch up in a few days...high school is a different animal. This might be if for us with our ownership as we don't want to travel in the summer.

Take a USB Flash Drive with you. You can use a printer at the convention center resort business centers or at printer kiosks found in the concierge area of the resorts. Both have fees.

That was my first thought too, but if I absolutely knew I needed to print and possibly reprint a significant number of papers on a trip I'd bring a small inkjet printer with me, even shipping it (as well as ink and paper) to the resort in advance.

This doesn't sound like a very relaxing trip like this though... your best bet - talk to the teachers well before you leave. They might be able to get the work together for your daughter so it's easier when she gets back and remove the need to be printing anything on the trip.

hi, in addition to the printing/use of flash drive we submitted materials that were do immediately through programs like turnitin or just email attachments so there were no penalties or points taken off.

by bringing along the laptop and doing the work online, we found our son got prepared for college. they use the blackboard vista and discussions, online grading.

thanks...a usb sounds like a good idea...she can do a lot on the computer but the science labs and spanish are almost impossible to make up...we will make the best of it! thanks everyone!
