A Couple Bluezoo Questions - The DIS Discussion Forums

I'm visiting disney in january and am realllyyy looking forward to eating at Bluezoo. I've never been there and I'm hoping someone can answer a couple questions. First, since it's kind of off the beaten path, do I need to make ADR's there? I'm so sick of sticking to such a rigid schedule! I'd be there on a Sunday evening. Also, I've heard so much about those crab nachos. Are they only on the bar menu, though? It seems that way from what I've read. Also, for those of you with TIW, can you use restaurants.com gift cards to pay? Thanks in advance

Most of the time the restaurant is not full but if there's a convention an ADR might be needed. I've never had that issue; we do walkups here all of the time.

The full menu is available in the bar so I don't see why you couldn't get crab nachos in the restaurant. Of course, dining in the bar is an option--the bar is quite nice here.

You cannot combine discounts so if you are using the TIW, that's the only discount you will be able to use.

Wile walking in and getting a table at bluezoo is certainly easier than, say, Flying Fish, it is by no means a sure thing. But you can call the restaurant directly (407-934-1111) and I find that a host/hostess on site can work with you a lot better than Disney's on-line ADR system, or a central call center. If you suspect that you know what day you want to eat there, it would make sense to put in a call a week or so ahead and see what the bookings look like.

Or just call and say "if I come in a hour can you seat me.". Works for me

Yes. But bear in mind that if your answer is "no", you can try again when it is more convenient. But the OP is from Ohio, so if the answer is "no", it could result in missing out on eating there.

The Orange County in my signature is California.

But they can say "not in an hour but at x".

Some of it will also depend on what week in Jan. you are going. If it's right after the holiday or around MLK day the crowds will be heavier so you may find it harder to get a walk in during busy times. If you go when they are just opened you should have no problem. If you go during peak dining times you may have a wait.

Thanks to everyone for all the tips! I'll be there MLK weekend, so I guess I'll just make an ADR. I'm a huge foodie, so having great food is a must on my trip!
