Where to get Contact Lenses at discount?
New to the world of contacts. DD13 really likes the disposable 1x use contact lenses. I priced them thru DR. and with rebate a year supply is about 360. So 1 dollar a day I am assuming. Is this a good enough price or is there an online site better? thanks!

You should be able to do much better depending on her prescription. I have used ACLens and VisionDirect. Both have been terrific and about half price of what I would pay otherwise. Shipping is free if it is over a minimum, usually $99. Make sure you google discount codes. As a new customer you should be able to get 20% off both companies' online prices. If the lens company is offering a rebate you will also be able to take advantage of it.
I came to the budget board 3 years ago with the same question. I have saved at least $500. buying online. One other tip- check if your credit card has an added rebate if you buy online with that company. Discover gave me 15% once and the last time I got 5 % with AmEx. Good luck!

If you're a member, Costco was the best I could find. Target will also price match, they don't advertise it though. You have to ask. Maybe other places might do the same or even beat a lower price.

I've used visiondirect.com, webeyecare, and just recently...walgreens.com has had the lowest because they have some great promo codes. Don't ever buy them from Dr., they are waaay higher.

Costco, without a doubt. Might be worth the membership if you are not already a member.

Opticontacts.com! have ordered 3 times from them now and the cost of my 1 day lenses are half of what I paid through the dr's office and the cheapest price I could find online, by far!

Another VisionDirect.com user here. I don't have the daily wear though. I have 2 week contacts for astigmatism (I wear them a LOT longer than 2 weeks.) My eye doctor goes through 1800-Contacts and VisionDirect was less than half the cost. Just for info, Walmart also goes through 1800-Contacts.
A coworker (same eye doctor) has the daily wear contacts. It is $90 for 90 days, so yeah, $1 per day. Not sure how much they are through online resources since I just asked him recently and he is still on his first 90 days that he ordered through the doctor. |

Thanks for the great advice! I will look into it all. Anyone know how insurance is handled? I get 150 per year in eyecare for contacts...so wasn't sure if I could do online and still use insurance? thanks again!

My optometrist (at Pearle) recommended contactlensking.com (and Pearle also price matches). I wear regular old ones, DH has "special eyes" (no really, he only have one partially working tear duct do to a birth injury, so contacts are weird). And I was able to get great deals on both.

. Most likely you would pay for the contact lenses and submit proof of payment for reimbursement, but that's entirely a guess.

Hmmm well I called Costco and they were expensive.... 480 for year supply less 40 costco rebate less 50 manufacturer rebate is 390 for the year... I didn't think that was a great buy. My Dr. office is cheaper...Maybe costco prices differ regionally?

Then it appears CostCo wouldn't be the best option for you. not every suggestion works for every person.

I love Costco but it was not a good deal for my brand of contacts either but I just checked out that VisionDirect Website and they have a great deal for my contacts! Thanks for sharing the website!
