See if you can do an Affdavitt or deposition. my boss rarely has to go to trials he is subpoenaed for. Try to stick to your guns. I am assuming you work at a Hospital talk to your bosses to, they might know of something similar when an Affdavit or deposition was accepted.

I read that some courts were having trouble with juries because the general public expects forensic evidence to be as precise and as definitive as it appears on shows like CSI.

I think that is very true. I also think they have a hard time with "reasonable doubt."

Good for you! I just had to report for my 1st jury duty today and it was the only week I had no child care (single mom) and my car radiator blew yesterday! I was praying so hard to not get picked for the jury and they had the jury selected before they got to me. It would have pushed me over the edge if it would have messed with my Disney trip though! Have a great trip!

Glad to hear that you were released from the subpoena, OP.

OT question though: why does your marriage make this a conflict of interest? If I was a witness to a teacher being murdered, is the fact that my wife is a teacher a conflict of interest?

Glad you got out of it! Have a great time on your trip.

On a side note, I am an attorney. I actually work for the courts. And of course, I am a huge Disney fan. I carry my phone with its Minnie cover into court daily. You would be surprised how many conversations about Disney come about when attorneys and judges see my phone.
