What is 'luxury bowling'?

I have seen this on advertisements for a couple of places & am curious...I may just go check it out but the one closest to me isn't open yet...

Never heard of this but I'm curious. Around here ALL bowling is a luxury because it is so darn expensive even at the old run-down bowling alleys.

I think it refers to places like Corner Alley or Splitsville. They are nicer restaurants/bars that cater to a different clientele than the normal bowling alley does.

There is nothing luxury about bowling.

Lucky Strike is pretty fancy, for a bowling alley.

Thanks. I am sure the examples given are similar to what they are. One of them is also supposed to include a dine-in movie theater. Hope they have good soundproofing.

Maybe it's a bowling alley with marble floors and crystal chandeliers. I want a golden bowling ball lol

I just googled, and it sounds to me like it means they have waitress service with good food and drinks (not the usual bowling alley crap) right to the lanes, and they might also have a good sound system and video replays and things like that. Upscale bowling (hahaha, kind of an oxymoron)

We are having our company holiday party at Pinstripes. We will have our own lanes with comfy couches, our our cocktail waitress and a nice buffet. It is supposed to be a fun place and a nice change from our normal staid dinner.

Well, speaking from experience, my DH is a pro browler and there is no luxury in that part. Maybe some of the bowling alley's are trying to redo things and give better perks or something. For playing no luxury there.

Hmmm...to me luxury bowling would be having a pro bowler roll my balls down the lanes while I get a pedicure...now THAT is pure luxury

You can dress it up all you want, but if you are sticking your feet in shoes 100 other people wore then it isn't luxurious

My department at my old job did that at a place called Bowlmor in NYC. It was fine but I ended up on a work call that I couldn't put off. Had to take it in the ladies room.
