important question
Are there public restrooms on each floor in case your family needs to use the restroom at the same time in your cabin?

I don't know about all floors, but there are public restrooms on the main areas close to dining rooms, theatre and pools.

Yes, check the deck plans for the ship you are on: http://www.cruisedeckplans.com/DP/Main/CL-Disney.php
you can print these out if you want, or wait until you get onboard and try to obtain one. to navigate, click on your ship, then on the left side of the page are the decks, floor by floor. once you click on a deck, it will show up on the page for you to peruse |

On decks with no public amenities, there will be no public restroom. It is not very far to a deck that does though.

It doesn't look like any on the main cabin floors. That could be a problem. We are use to having 3 bathrooms for 4 people.

Since you have 4... would you consider looking into 2 adjoining rooms? Oftentimes the price is not that much more (unless you are getting kids sail free or something like that).

There are many public restrooms on the ship, but not on every deck. If a deck contains only guest cabins (no public spaces), it will not contain a public restroom.
That said, I grew up in a house with 6 people and one bathroom. While by today's standards, that seems somewhat primitive, that was quite the norm in the 1960s-70s. Somehow, we managed. On DCL, a suite that sleeps 6 has more than one restroom! |

Like others said there are not public bathrooms If there isn't public places on that deck. However one nice thing with the bathrooms in the room is they are split, shower and toilet separate so that helps!

FYI this is not the case in the very lowest stateroom categories (11C and possibly B). In these it is just one normal bathroom

The fitness center is a nice place to go shower, shave, and what-have-you. There is a LOT of room, amenities provided, and provides a little r&r time to do yourself up. I do that often on our cruises. Gives me time to fix up my hair and prevent the high humidity lift-

What a great site to print the decks. It comes out really great and I was looking for something to have in my hands to know the ship before I get onboard. Thanks Does Guest Services have a handout they can give that has the layout of the decks? Thanks chris |

Depending on which ship you are on and which deck you are on, you may have to walk a long way or up/down a deck to reach a public restroom.
There are also no split bathrooms in the category 8A staterooms on the Dream and Fantasy.

If I recall correctly, the Navigator you get in the terminal on embarkation day has a map of the ship on the opposite side. I only remember this on the new ships, don't remember about the Classics. If I get a second, I will try and dig up the appropriate Navigators later.

I do the deckplans in advance to map out my FE route. If many staterooms are grouped together, I may not do floor by floor distribution, but jump from deck to deck. The printout that DCL gives you has stateroom numbers that are rather hard to see, but is great to help you navigate in general (it's all on one page).

Thanks
Chateau:
This will be our 3rd cruise. The previous 2 were on the Magic, which I loved. However, I picked up the Passporters book and printed out the decks. But it was real small. The site you posted was exactly what I've been looking for. And I think you're right, the Magic didn't have the Deck layout on the Navigator. I keep saying "Why don't they have a deck layout printed?" I mean, it's not a big deal, because the signs in the elevators and around the Magic are pretty good, but "time is money" and getting lost is a waste of time, unless you discover something new. Thanks Chris |
