Buses back to WDW from ship

We have early dining (might eat early MDR breakfast) and plan to use Disney transfers. How long would we have to wait for a bus to depart? At about what time would a bus leave after early breakfast? Are there a few buses waiting?

The busses are lined up ready to go. As soon as they are full they depart. No set time.

You could wait anywhere from 2 minutes to 45 minutes....and I'm not kidding. Each bus to WDW is planned to go to 3 resorts. You will come out of the terminal and go to the CM at the podium, tell her which resort, and she'll direct you to the bus. The driver will place your luggage under the bus. You could depart almost immediately or you could wait a while till the bus is reasonably full. It just depends on how many people are headed for your resort area at your time.

I don't like to use DCL transfer going to WDW because it can take FOREVER. One time it took 3 hours to get from the port to WDW. Yes, I am not kidding.

As Kcashner has mentioned it can take awhile for the bus to leave the port because they wait for it to fill up before you leave. The travel time from the port to WDW is about an hour to an hour and 10 minutes by bus (car is faster).

The bus does not go directly to YOUR resort, it may stop at 2 or 3 before it FINALLY gets to yours which is why it CAN take 3 hours although our experience is probably an extreme case.

This is absolutely right. The last time we did Port C to AKL, it took over 3 hours and was totally miserable.

It took us total about 2 hours from walking off the ship to walking into our room at POR. We, however were not put on a bus. We were assigned to a small white van with 2 other parties. First stop was OKW and then us and the third family was headed to GF.

We've not yet had any problem getting back to the resort. Remember the ride itself is around an hour-ish. Also, ive bypassed breakfast, been on the "dreaded" white van, been off the boat and to my resort at the quickest time ever.

We got on the DCL bus at PC at 9 AM and finally got to the Boardwalk at 12 PM after stopping at every other EPCOT resort first.

We always take a car service now since it is much faster and in many circumstances costs about the same or less than the buses.
