Pull down bed?

My son watched a video showing the pull down bed and is really excited for that. How do I know if our room has one or not?
We are in 5044 on the dream.
Thanks!

For some reason DCL keeps this info in house. You must call or read it in a room report. Call DCL. Not all rooms have the ceiling bunk or the wall murphy bed.

ETA; Then again these 4e's have 203 sq. ft. so no space for murphy, says sleeps at least 4, so all 4e's must have ceiling bunk.
Someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

have to have at least 4 people in the room...we had a 5A room on the Fantasy (room 10554) and my daughter was super excited about the bunk...there are three of us and no bunk bed- she was not happy...

I don't think you HAVE to have 4 people. You just have to be in a room that CAN sleep 4 people. . We haven't been in a room without it yet. Maybe this cruise (we'll be in a 4D with a chance of a Murphy bed in addition to/instead of the bunk). Then maybe the kids won't fight over it!!!!!

Anyway, OP just ask the room host to pull down the bunk if you have one instead of making up the couch bed. HTH!

My husband, daughter and I were on the Dream in February. We were in a category 4E and there was not a ceiling bunk. Our daughter had seen the video too, and was very disappointed at first. She loved her "special bed," though, and quickly got over it.

Yep- I can relate. Booked a 8B thinking it had a maximum capacity for 5 and later found our our particular cabin has no bunk (only booked for 4, though). We'll survive, though!

Well...... it may be what you were told, but the CM you spoke to was incorrect. You can select any available cabin in the category you book, regardless of the number of people in your party. If the number of people mattered, you would have to have 7 people in your party to book the Walt or Roy suites on the Magic or Wonder, because they sleep 7 people. I know that is not the case, because we've been in the Walt suite on the Wonder and there were only 3 of us.

Maybe if you do a reservation where DCL assigns your room (GTY or *GT) they try put parties of 3 or fewer in a room without a bunk since it won't be required. But if you choose your stateroom when booking there is no limitation to a smaller party selecting a room with a pull-down bunk. We were 3 and had one on the Dream last winter. But we didn't realize it would or would not have the bunk at the time we booked, just got lucky I guess.

Yep. You can book any available room. But now that i think about it, perhaps the pp was a GTY or *GT, if a CM actually told them that. I could see that being a factor when they are sorting out rooms for the guarantys. Put the parties of 4 in the rooms with the bunk to avoid having to upgrade parties of 4 because there are parties if 3 in a 4-person room. If that makes sense.

No you don't have to have 4 to a room, we request a stateroom with a pull down bed and there are only 3 of us, DCL has been very good about giving us a stateroom with the pull down bed

From this review it looks as though there is a pull down bunk.

Absolutely no need for 4 people in the room. On our last cruise, we had a family oceanview room - it slept 5 people and it was just DH and me.

When we cruise in a few weeks, we will have 3 adults in our room and it sleeps 4 people.
