Port Orleans Riverside

Has anyone eaten at either the Boatright's Dining Hall, or Riverside Food Court? We will be spending one night at POR before moving to the Polynesian, and thought we might want to just grab dinner at the hotel. Any advice would be appreciated.

We love Riverside Mill and we are not food court type people. The make your own pasta is fantastic. I haven't eaten at Boatwright's though I've heard good things about it.

Thanks, that is what I needed to know. Pasta would be a great meal for me that night too!

The food court is great and I agree the pasta station is the best. I look forward to the food court when we stay there. We've only eaten breakfast at Boatwright's(which isn't offered anymore) and it was good. My BFF has eaten there for dinner several times and has had no complaints.

Boatwrights is very good we ate there this past September on our trip. Loved it. Food was great. Service was outstanding. Chef came out upon hearing that we had a picky 4 year old with us and asked him exactly what he wanted to eat. Grilled cheese on white bread was what our DS wanted. Chef whipped up a perfectly made triple decker grilled cheese on white bread and DS had the biggest smile on his face. Can't say enough good things about that meal.

Have eaten at both places in the last year, and enjoyed both. Riverside food court pasta station is great...love being able to choose everything. They pack a lot of food into what looks like a small carton. No one in our party could finish the entire container (like a chinese food to-go box)

We really enjoyed the food at Boatrights, but have to say the night we were there the place was totally slammed and the service was slow (I think the kitchen was totally overwhelmed--they had 60 min. waits to be seated for walk-ups that night; was pouring so I suspect a lot of people stayed at the resort that night instead of going back to a park...as a result, the restaurant was overwhelmed ) The cajun food can be spicy, so ask your server how hot things are if you don't like it spicy-hot. I had a steak and really liked it...hubby had something spicier (involved jambalaya, I think.) Anyway, he liked it. The corn bread they serve is fantastic, and the desserts were good...as were the adult beverages on the specialty drinks menu

The make-your-own pasta at POR food court is awesome!!! its so very very tasty, considering its a CS! If this means anything, my pasta at POR was 500% better than the junk they serve at Tony's.

Love both, no complaints at all. I am already planning to eat at both places on my next trip.

Yes! I fully agree that the pasta is wonderful, but the crawfish etoufee at Boatwright's is better.

We ate there in Dec. Grilled tenderloin while tasty is a very small portion. DS ate his 2 and one of mine and then we went into the lounge and he ordered nachos. Which BTW are very good too! The prime rib is a better size.

Port Orleans is my family's favorite resort. Besides the pasta at POR, both POR and POFQ offer different Chef dinners. These are very good, too.

Cancelled our ADR at Boatwright's the other night to try Food Court and then take the boat to DTD. Loved the food court pasta and make-your-own salad which was also stuffed into the container. Burgers just OK per my 2 burger eaters-- but we raise beef, so... Very pleased overall and with breakfast also. Boat to DTD capped off the night!

Was there in late 2011. Both were very good....Great stations & choices in the food court... The only problem that I have with it is that its very crowded & once u get your food you have to keep an eye out for a seat....* Unless you have someone get your seat prior....You'll only be there 1 day so this won't be an issue. Boatrights has plenty of dishes to choose from, and the service there is very good. So was the food.

If you want to try the pasta and have someone with you that has similar tastes.... I suggest one of you gets the make your own pasta and one of you gets the make your own salad.

I did this with my mother, and it worked out very well. The one time I got the pasta by myself (even though I'm a huge eater!)... it was a bit much. Aside from getting full... I think it was so much food that I just kind of got sick of it (even though it was good). The half portion along with a half salad was much better.

Of course... that plan would only work with my mother. DH and I would never agree on the same pasta or salad for that matter!
