Nope. We just use our utensils...

I don't carry sanitizer with me anymore....except on the airplane. No matter how hard I scrub after taking my DD6 to the restroom on the plane, I just don't feel clean.

I don't carry it at WDW or DLR. I occasionally toss in some antibacterial wipes (Wet Ones) for wiping down the CS tables, but that's only if I have room in my bag. Otherwise, it's soap and water for our hands every time we are in the restroom.

Even soap and water can't kill the norovirus. It's the process of scrubbing with soap creating lubrication then washing it away that get it off our hands.... And let me tell you not everyone manages properly. You have to make sure you scrub for at least a minute and make sure you get all areas (backs of hands, in between fingers etc).... And make sure you dry properly.

I'm not a germophobe, but I spent a full day learning this stuff as part of my nursing training!

If one uses sanitizer after touching anything that someone else has touched, one will need to carry a whole lot of hand sanitizer.

No but between the three methods of cleaning your hands: water, soap & water and hand sanitizer, the latter is the LEAST effective against norovirus.

I agree. I am a huge hand washer, but it's not always possible. My favorite example is when I get gas. I feel gross after that.

I just think people are being a tad over zealous on a question that just asked if there was sanitizer around the parks...

Personally, I NEVER use those stations. Have you ever seen anyone cough in their hands then touch the station? I only carry my own little bottle of hand sanitizer with me.

I will always choose to wash my hands first before eating or anytime I am in a washroom. If for whatever reason, it is inconvenient to go wash your hands right at that moment, I think wet wipes would be better than hand sanitizer since you are in fact wiping the germs off your hands?

Facts are people do not wash their hands so hand sanitizer is better than nothing.
People will use hand sanitizer if avaiable.

Now the question of using it PROPERLY, thats another case all together.

Wow weird coincidence I actually referenced both of these in my essay. 100% agree hand sanitizers just don't cut the mustard when compared with good old fashioned soap and water

Oh boy, the problem is not with me washing my hands with soap and water, but....all the people who do NOT wash their hands properly or at all for that matter. Way too many people using the restroom, messing with their nose and goodness know what else, and not washing THEIR hands.

You're much better off washing your hands. Using hand sanitizer should never be viewed as a substitute.

we're avid hand washers too but I had to laugh when I saw a big burly guy dressed as Jack Sparrow for a party (on the way over to MK on the ferry). He had a little thing of hand sanitizer clipped onto his backpack. Guess even tough pirates can't be too careful
