Do you have a "5 Below" store near you?
Looks as though we're getting one pretty soon.
I've never been in one but by the name of the store, I'm pretty much assuming everything in the store is $5 and below. What kinds of stuff can you find in there? Is it just a glorified dollar store? Can you find some good deals? Any name brand stuff? Can you use coupons? |

Would love to be able to sit on the couch for a few days, get a good book, and do NOTHING!

We have one in our mall and it's been there for YEARS so it obviously does a good business. I haven't been in mine for awhile. It seems to be geared toward elementary and middle school kids. Yes, everything is below $5. They have some toys, makeup, socks, posters, DVDs, school supplies, books, candy (lots of candy), exercise equipment, and various other stuff. As I said, it has a little something for everyone but seems to be geared toward older kids and teens.

We have one near us. Think of it as an "upscale" dollar store. It has a good selection of party supplies & seasonal / holiday decorations. In the summer they have all kinds of water toys, beach towels, flip flops etc. Last year we had a st pats party & I got a ton of great stuff there.
It's definitely worth checking out Imo. |

We have one but it's not somewhere we usually shop at.

It's a great place to get kids party favors, instead of doing a goody bag. I get a lot of stocking stuffers there.

If you're old enough to remember what a "five and ten" store is, it's one of those. For tweens.

We have one about 15 min. away & another one opened up closer, about a month ago.
I've never been in one though. It looks like a glorified Dollar Store to me & I can't stand them (Walmarts included).

Never heard of them, went to their website, closest one is 1650 miles away!
Appears they are no further west than St. Louis.

It's the kind of store that you go into "just to see what they have" and leave an hour later with at least $50 of stuff that you didn't even know you needed or wanted!
My girls like to go there to get presents for friends, we make a gift bag full of stuff.

Big difference between the dollar store and Five Below is that there are lots of brand name items at Five Below. Sometimes they are a bargain, sometimes not. You have to be choosy and not be under the impression that everything is a good deal. It's a fun store to browse in. My kids love it because if they have $5 they can afford absolutely anything in the whole store.

YES!!!
and my DD waorks there too!!! I agree with the previous posters that said it is an upscale Dollar store, if you are looking to save some money on anything, look at your Dollar Store first, then go to 5Below. I got quite a few "back to school" items there, then found similar or better items cheaper @ Walmart/and my local Shoprite(grocery store)!!! But you can get a lot of name brand things, like Sally Hanson's nail polishes, etc that usually sell at CVS for $6.99 for $2-3. Plus, lot's of novelties, beach toys etc. (I got a great beach bag this summer. Stock is FOREVER changing. Fun store, and easy to spend a small fortune on stuff that you probably really don't need. ![]()

It's pretty much crap but DD was able to find a Halloween accessory there last year for $3. She also likes the $1 boxes of candy because sometimes they have candy we can't find in the grocery store.
If you're looking for high quality merchandise, this isn't the place. |
