atlantic city is fun for kids too. the boardwalk has arcades (the rides are probably closed by now though) and some of the casinos have little shows to see (nothing like las vegas mind you, but some interesting things). there is a mall on the boardwalk and a block off the boardwalk is an outlet mall (with a disney outlet!).

im sure if they are staying a decent hotel there will be an indoor pool. ther is a rainforest cafe on the boardwalk and also a small art museum. i think there would be plenty to keep them busy. there are also some things close by (short driving distance) like storybook land.

Story book land is for younger kids, like the 9 and younger set. For teens, there is shopping, food and other things.

I'm guessing they aren't coming during the summer. If that's the case I don't think there would be enough in ac to keep them entertained for a week. However, they could easily spend a day or 2 in Philadelphia. Washington Dc or Baltimore are also possibilities. Of course this would only work if another adult were going along.

When are they thinking of going? I don't think of it as family friendly, but my friend does go with kids. There are a bunch of touristy type places

Here is not a great bloggy kind of teen stuff in AC

Personally, I wouldn't bring teens to Atlantic City for more than a day or two, especially in the winter.

The shopping is pretty much limited to "The Walk" (about 30 outlet stores 2 blocks off the Boardwalk) and the Pier Shops at Ceasars, which are high end shops (think Brookstone and designer clothes). There aren't many concerts there during the week, and I don't think the Boardwalk itself is that great, especially when shops are closed for the winter. It's not like Las Vegas where you could at least go to Excalibur or MGM. There is an IMAX theater in Tropicana.

If it's much more than a day or two, and I had a choice, I'd leave the kids home.

When is this convention? Unless it is the summer and they can go to the beach and the boardwalk there isn't going to be enough to entertain them for a full day.

Totally agree.

Not to mention some hotels the pools are for 18+ only.

I would make sure to visit Lucy the Elephant!
