Packing Souvenirs
I'd like to bring plastic ziplock or glad ware containers along to pack any fragile or breakable souvenirs for the airplane ride back home.
My question is, I'm not sure what size and or shape to bring. If anybody else has done this, please give me some suggestions! |

It is hard to say what size you need without knowing what you plan to buy, but one thing I did to protect my small things like Christmas ornaments on the last trip was to put them in my tennis shoes in my luggage. The shops are good about wrapping things in bubble wrap that are fragile and this protected them well. I didn't have anything broken. You an also take the bubble wrapped items and wrap them in several layers of clothing. If I have large items, like the Stein nutcracker we bought at the Germany shop, I ship them home.

You can take souvenirs purchased at WDW to the resort gift shop and they will inventory, pack them, and ship them for you.

If I buy anything fragile like glassware or christmas ornaments I make sure I have the store ship it home for me. It costs a bit more for shipping but if it arrives broken, they'll replace it for free.
Knowing I always buy 1 ornament, I used to bring a tall square shaped tupperware container that worked well. I think it was about 4 or 6 inches tall. That worked well for me at that point - I just made sure to pick an ornament that would fit in it. |
