This really is a brilliant marketing move for Disney. Book values and moderates to extent people want them, upgrade the overflow to monorail resorts, and turn people into every-year-at-a-luxury-resort guests. At least, that's what it would do for us. The luxury and convenience of the resort would make the vacation that much better, and it would be all over for our checkbook.

I used to work at the value resorts on property and there would be certain times (mostly because we were oversold on certain room types) and would flag certain reservations to see if we could move families to other resorts.

I absolutely loved being able to tell families that they were given the magical opportunity to move to one of the deluxe resorts! However, I do remember one family that was checking into Pop and did NOT want to move to the Contemporary, because the kids were so looking forward staying at Pop!

The Poly is my all time favorite resort and I hope you guys enjoy it!!

Got back home last Friday night. Had a wonderful time! Loved the Poly...it was amazing! We watched the fireworks a couple of times right from the beach. I didn't realize they piped the music from the fireworks shows to the Poly beach. Watch Wishes and Hallowishes from the beach. Mulling over whether to write a trip report to detail everything that happened. Can't wait to get back to Disney in December

We did get a room upgreat at POFQ one time - river view instead of no view. Not anything super exciting because you can't really sit & overlook the river on the walkway. But it was still nice of them to do.

Congrats to you and your family Just a wonderful gift So happy for you! Stayed one night in Samoa and had a beautiful view of the Volcano Pool, and, yes, you can see the fireworks from the beach. We actually jumped in the pool for them so we would never, ever forget!

Glad you had a fun time. We are going in Dec-Jan and staying at a mod...hope this happens to us too.

All the best to you
