I checked out the Navigators and there was officer pin trading listed. Usually there is some also in the shops, and a few times in the main Lobby throughout the cruises.

We saw a lot of pin trading going on between staff and guests and between guests themselves. There were pins for sale in the gift shop and lots of people were buying them. Many people wore the lanyards with pins on them wandering around, including waitstaff and officers.

A hint!! There is was a cast member walking the decks on sea days handing out pins to anyone with a Disney hat on!!! I saw lots of people get them throughout the cruise.

We had Simon on the Dream in June and he was amazing, so I hope he is still there when we go on the Magic in December.

I don't think Simon will be on the Magic in Dec., as Tisa told me when we saw her on our June 2nd Magic sailing that she will be brought back in Nov. just in time for the start of the holiday (starting w/ Thanksgiving) sailings. So unless they decide to keep Simon on the Magic and send Tisa elsewhere, I doubt he'll be there. Which makes me sad, esp. b/c I love the way he hosts Match Your Mate so much more than the way Tisa does. Not that Tisa is bad; Simon just gets down to the nitty-gritty a bit more than Tisa does.

Do you mean any kind of Disney hat or only Disney Vacation Club hats?
We've been on cruises when the DVC reps hand out pins to DVC members wearing DVC hats.

Galveston Questions

Is it better to stay at the Marriott in the airport and take the Disney shuttle or rent a car and stay in Galveston?

I just priced that out and for us it just made sense to stay at the Marriott. Our flight arrives at 6pm so by the time we get luggage and stuff we decided with out 4yo to stay close and shuttle.

I did not spend a heavy amount of time researching but briefly the rental cars were $60-80 sedan due to the one way fee added on and our mini van $110. it was worth it for us with 7 but on the way back we have 2 coming back one week and 5 coming back the next- so we opted for minivan one way and DCL tx return as $150 vs $110+ gas + taxi or walking to get minivan from rental co wasnt worth the hastle but one the way there we save $100 and dont have to bother with the shuttle times- although DCL shuttle might make it easier getting into the port and lines but not alot of info out there on this so was a toss up for us

Did they specifically tell you there was a one way fee.? I have a mini van reservation, and it's about $100 (USAA rate), but they didn't mention any extra fees, and it's not on the confirmation email they sent me, so now I'm paranoid that it's going to get tacked on after the fact.

Nope, anything Disney. There was one lady with a floppy hat that had Mickey on it, another guy with a baseball type cap and one guy that had a bucket hat that just said Disney on it. Did not have to be a DCV member hat.

I couldn't find a place that would take a one way. I looked and it just wasn't happening. No one had shuttles to the ports either.
